   I grab my lunch from Waki Maki every week. The salmon poke bowls and sushi rolls are my favourite. They are always accommodating to what I want to include in my bowl and rolls. The range is fab and the service is lovely. The food is also very tasty! I can’t recommend enough.

   When Moses came down from Mount Sinai the 11th commandment read, "Thou shalt not keep Waki Maki a secret" but he did because it is so delicious he wanted it all to himself. Luckily, he's longed past now and Waki Maki has been brought into the light for one and all to enjoy. The food is nice, the service quick and I've eaten it every week for about a year so it must be good. I've heard that Michelin tried to give them a star but they turned it down wanting to stay humble and connected to their roots.

   I loved the poke bowl and can’t believe I never tried it in my first year !!! Waki maki is my favourite place to eat on campus at the university of leeds and I love the amount of choice there is. I’d definitely recommend adding mango to your poke bowl next time it’s so good!!!! And the price is so good too for such fresh food. That combined with how good it tastes and the location makes it so perfect, and the staff is always friendly and nice - they even remembered my name!

   My go-to for lunch when I’m on campus! The rice boxes are really tasty, poke bowls generous and delicious, and just tried their noodle box with pulled pork - the bang bang sauce really hit the spot!    I ordered Deep fried tofu roll with bang bang sauce and sesame topping. The seaweed smelled good. Lots of fresh vegetables. The bang bang sauce matches perfectly.

   The food is always good, but there lacks basic service or politeness at all. I had a very bad experience over there today. The female staff kept turning to chat with another colleague while she wasn't wearing a mask the entire time she was making my sushi roll. What was worse, she rolled her eyes and asked me - do you mean you want all sides here??? after I asked for one more piece of cucumber. Then she didn't respond to my curiosity about the number of sides they provide. I felt not comfortable with her tone and the rolling eyes and also the behaviour at the end she just asked me to swipe my card and then left, didn't show any politeness by saying thanks or goodbye etc. Btw, at the beginning I heard she was making fun of the last customer with her colleague. I am an international student, and I didn't expect to be treated badly here by someone who looks like me at the uni.

   Nice sushi, we particularly enjoyed the Inari and the prawn tempura roll (sauce was a little spicy). One thing that we didn’t expect was that the fish in our inside out rolls was different to the picture on the menu, and we’re not the biggest tuna fans.

   I’ve ordered twice from Waki Maki and will continue to do so. The sushi is delicious and so fresh. The menu expansion is great - loved the chicken karaage alongside all the seafood. Highly recommend!

   Waki Maki deliveries have been superb, especially for when we don't want to make Japanese food ourselves or haven't been able to eat out in Leeds. It's certainly been very welcome in lockdown plus it's great to see the menu expanding!
