Great restaurant and take away. Huge portions but good prices. They have a really big menu aswell aside from fish and chips.
I always visit Whittakers when I am in Manchester for an event and have yet to be disappointed by the food or service. I always get the same meal (nuggets and chips) and as a person who is VERY fussy about her chips, I pretty much empty my plate every time. From my experience the staff are always very friendly and smiley. I am greeted as I arrive and told to have a lovely day as I leave. They give me time to look at the menu and then come over and happily take my order. I have never felt unhappy about my experience. Great food, lovely staff and a nice atmosphere. I recommend this place to all my friends when they go to Manchester.
Friendly service, piping hot food, hyuuuge portions, astonishingly affordable. Definitely coming back.
Used to rate this place, not been for a while! Today was horrendous! Chips were burned, old and stale, tasted horrible, worst chip barm I’ve ever had. Doddery old woman and gormless young girl serving didn’t seem to know or care what they were doing/serving. The scallops were really nice but not going to come back!! For the prices charged, it should be excellent
Lovely lunch today with my friend. Lovely proper chip shop food. Returned at the start of November for a repeat visit and it was fantastic. Great value food as well. Keep up the great work. I will be returning again soon!
Lethargic, sluggish, SLOW service with dollop of overpriced tatseless stodge to finish your esteem off with. FORTY minutes waiting for sausage, chips and gravy, and no, that is not an exageration! Just truly mind shatteringly shocking. I will not return to this soul draining den again and would only recommend it to only the most fervent of masacists. Avoid and consider growing your own potatoes which will yield before Whitaker's have even taken your order. One star is overly generous but is the minimum option available.
Had the Fish and Chips x 2, Absolutely spot on -- Large portions, lovely cod and crispy fresh chips. Recommended and I'll be back next time I'm in town.
Never had a bad meal here. The sit in options are hearty and well priced. Staff are friendly and service is fast. Best chippy in Trafford!
Very nice, recommended for all, take out is just great quality, eating in at a chippy is a rare theses day's and were lucky in Urmston to have this great eating in service 100%
Appalling. Waited nearly 20 mins ( with no queue) for the smallest large chips, 2 Sausages and a kids meal that isn't big enough to feed a toddler. Served up the food out of sight so couldn't see the appaling portions. Gave my food to my child and had to go elsewhere to get an extra meal. Won't come back.
