A great sushi restaurant with excellent quality of fish and very good service. We have come here multiple times and never been disappointed. We like the sashimi salad, unagi dragon roll, spicy tuna maki and salmon avocado and uramaki. We made a reservation on a Friday night and it wasn’t too busy. Would highly recommend it!
Want to give it a try after seeing many good review, particularly the reviewers from Asia and HK who should be more familiar with the "should-be" standard of Japanese cuisine. The lunch menu of £18 has plenty of choices and my ordered one with sushi, sashimi and tempura is particularly good value for money. Sushi/sashimi are fresh and tempura is crispy. It's an enjoyable one for me.
I’ve been coming to Atari Tei for a long time, and under the new management it has only gotten better! The food is as fresh and delicious as ever – from the beautifully prepared sushi and sashimi to the crispy tempura. Everything tastes so well-balanced and of high quality. The service was excellent too. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the waitress, Angela, was especially attentive and helpful. She made sure everything was perfect throughout my meal, which really added to the experience. It’s always been one of my favourite sushi spots, and I’m so glad the new management has kept the same great standard while making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
we have sushi there, it tasted good, During Sept, there are 10% discount offered. they are so nice that we were offered with a red bean ice cream as a compliment dessert
Quiet and cosy place with courteous and helpful staff. Food was served pretty quickly as on a Tuesday the place was empty. I am a great fan of chicken Katsu which I tried first time in Japan. I got menu 2 I think, which also got me free chicken skewers and a choice between beer, soft drinks and green tea. Mochi ice cream included. You can choose between mango and green tea.
Horrid service. Was given main with starter. When asked if they could keep warm, was told no because it takes a long time to make, i said "but i ordered it 5 minutes ago "Sushi roll falling apart, sloppy presentation. Gyoza were cold. Staff argumentative and rude but happy to add service charge. Also happy yo let a delivery driver perch on my table . Amazing , 1 meal with bad food (3 dishes) £27
This place is very nice and fish is very fresh I ordered chutoro and tuna donburi which are very fresh and very good with traditional japanese taste . Should be enjoy eat in
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. Not busy as we were the only customers in there but despite this, surprised that they didn’t make any of the tempura fresh. My ebi tempura donburi was clearly microwaved as it was not crispy. The coating was clearly soft and had just been reheated. Disappointed and would NOT recommend this if you want decent food.
Very good, but not as good as Cafe Japan. The food is not quite at the same level (e.g. no fresh wasabi at this branch) and the service seemed strangely inexperienced. Not a bad place at all but for the same price, I would only recommend coming here if Cafe Japan is fully booked.
We ordered from Deliveroo and very fast delivery but the taste and freshness not that good. Specially the Uni taste so heavy on ammonia… Some of the sushi doesn’t have vinegar in the rice but some does… so strange… Little disappointed and also when arrived the uni gunkan flipped over and some other sushi too… Too little wasabi provided, slightly more would be good.
