   I see some mixed reviews here and I think it depends when you go. Food got much better recently but it might have been just our luck. The place lost a lot of atmosphere with take away orders and drivers coming in / out constantly. Maybe there is a better way to organise it as it really spoils it for those who still enjoy eating out.

   Went for an evening meal on 08-04. We mentioned to the server that we are pescatarians and to give us some good suggestions based on our dietary requirements however he kept suggesting chicken and duck dishes?!?! The food was very disappointing. We mentioned about intolerance to chives and for that to not be included in the dishes but the server didn’t even know what chives were and asked us what they were?!? He said he couldn’t remove them from any curries as they were all precooked. This was off putting as it appeared that the food was going to be microwaved from frozen and not made fresh!! The food came suspiciously quick for what we ordered!! The battered veggies didn’t taste good and weren’t in panko bread crumbs which one would expect in an Asian restaurant but they looked and tasted like they were cooked in a fish and chop shop’s batter! The prawns in the tempura curry didn’t taste as if they were good quality. The teriyaki salmon tasted overcooked and a bit rubbery, as if the fish had been overcooked in a microwave. Not what you expect at these prices! Definitely won’t be returning.

   I have never left a review for a business before but I had to say something after my experience ordering from Hare & Tortoise via Deliveroo. In addition to sushi rolls, I ordered wakame salad and a couple of miso soups. I received barely half a cup of soup per order and the seaweed salad was filled with lettuce leaves in order to make it appear larger. There was barely any actual wakame in the dish. This was absurd to the point that I felt compelled to write this review. That this restaurant feels the need to rip-off customers to this extent tells you everything you need to know about this business. I would rather they had not sent anything at all. Oh, and the sushi wasn't even very good.

   Lovely place. We have been going here for over 15 years. Restaurant needs a bit of a revamp, looking a bit tired. But food really good. Order on an app which at first was a bit finicky but all good and food arrives super quick.

   Delicious food and speedy service. Both the Duck and Salmon were cooked to perfection. We also ordered the Calamari and Vegetable Tempura for starters. Would give the food 5 stars, however the restaurant itself is in need of some TLC.

   This is the first time trying the Putney Hare & Tortoise, having eaten at the Bloomsbury and Chiswick branches numerous times. However, this time the food was not as good as previous experiences at other branches. I ordered a roast duck and rice, one of my favourite items on the menu. The duck flavour was good but the meat was far too overcooked making it extremely dry and hard to chew. It was also lacking sauce, but this wasn’t a big issue as the staff were lovely and brought extra sauce when we asked.
