    Must book, at least for lunchtimes, which is when we go. Consistent, authentic, reliable, traditional. We're regulars since it opened, about a decade ago. Even after so many years, we're still thrilled to have this authentic Japanese restaurant so close to home. It doesn't even have to be expensive here. Foreigners always mention sushi but Japanese don't eat it daily and often not even weekly! We often have one of the filling Bento and Set lunches (about £15-20) with complimentary green tea. There are also Bentos available in the evening for about £25, a real bargain in London, especially for this quality.

    An amazing authentic family run Japanese restaurant serving delicious freshly made food.. We had a selection of foods varying from the pickles, mixed tempura, soba soup, salmon sushi and sashimi salad and 2 different desserts, a vanilla ice cream with sake chocolate syrup and a black sesame ice cream with mochi.. All in all were very pleasantly impressed with this friendly place and will be back soon! Highly recommend!

    Have been going to Tomoe for over a decade and it never disappoints. Quality of the food, generous portions, consistent management, great service. They recognise recurring customers. But more expensive than the average south london restaurant... but you pay for a quality that is difficult to match.

    This is a little gem we used to go to about 5 years ago. Went for dinner after a long time finally on Saturday night and sat on the bar. Was a wonderful experience to see the passion and the hard work of the sushi chef in front of us as well as a very hard working and charming team. The food was the best Japanese food that we had in London. Sushi was delicious and fresh, everything was beautifully presented and flavours were authentic and spot on. ありがとうございます！

    Found this place randomly and spontaneously decided to book and come for a quick dinner. We sat at the bar which was cool and atmospheric. Food was all good and came quickly which was a place. Nice artistic interior and its awesome watching the chefs work in front of you at the bar.

    This place was a lovely coincidence. We were around the area and hungry for some good authentic Japanese food and we were pleasantly surprised. Quality is excellent and portions are hefty so don’t worry about being left hungry. The sashimi plate was freshly prepared by the chef and the unagi don was brilliant. Everything about the food and ambience brought me right back to Tokyo. I will be coming back again with friends.
