Excellent service all round. Restraunt area full but spaces available in the bar area. Well worth a visit. Pensioner portions are the correct size and not over facing you. Meals delicious. Staff very warm and welcoming. Ample parking.

We went here yesterday, without booking, after making a last minute decision to see if there was any vegan food for my hubby. He had the Thai green curry and they even added some extra chillies for him. I thought he wouldn't like it, but he said it was really tasty and ate everything on the plate, which is really unusual as he struggles to find nice food outside of Manchester city centre. It was a great! The waitress was so sweet and nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend the Waggon as the whole experience was wonderful and the food was amazing!

Today I took my Mum out for lunch at the Waggon & Horses Matley and cannot thank the Staff enough for the first class experience. As ever, it’s always a very warm welcome from not only the Manager Lisa, but also every member of the team. I chose the roast lamb shank which I was told had been slow cooked for 8 hours and my god did it show. I could have shook the plate for the lamb to fall off the bone. So tender but cooked to perfection with perfectly cooked vegetables and gravy I like no other. The desert came out looking like it had just won the turner prize, and tasted phenomenal. Price wise it was great value given the quality of the food, atmosphere, service and standards of the venue. If you’re considering going on a Sunday, I’d recommend either getting an early walk in or booking in advance for the layers sittings. Keep doing what you’re doing there and I’ll keep coming back again and again.

I fancied some pub grub, so walked to the Waggon and Horses on a warm Thursday afternoon. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the other patrons were polite. Most were having a bite to eat, while some were just drinking. I sat outside in the beer gardens which is really smart and well laid out. The only downside is its position on the main road. The food menu has some great options on it, and I opted for the cheese and onion baguette with thick chips. The baguette was tasty, and the chips were honestly some of the best I have eaten for a long time. The food was brought out quickly (after being ordered and paid for at the bar), and was piping hot. They have a good selection of beers (especially for a Robinson's pub). And that included a guest craft ale (Faith by Northern Monk). This is a pub I will definitely return to.

Visited the wagon and horses yesterday 10 of us and had a great time. The food was delicious apart from the two waggon burgers which my lads had who said they were terrible, the worst they’d ever had and we’re disappointed. Service was fantastic and all the staff worked really hard, just a shame about the burgers.

Great food and drinks served by helpful hard working friendly staff. Very relaxing friendly atmosphere. Car parking can be a bit of an issue during busy times. Will definitely be back.

Used for a working lunch, 2nd time in a couple of months. Busy as you might expect being Christmas run up but service was spot on. Food was a good standard with a varied menu. We opted for the Festive Fare Menu (but had cod) and this was served with brussels, parsnips etc., and was very nice.
