   Me and the Mrs rocked up to Spice Bistro, Hollingworth last night looking like we’d just finished competing in It’s a Knockout: Mud Edition. We’d been at a local bonfire, covered in smoke, mud, and bad life choices — so obviously the next logical step was… curry! Never heard of this place before (we’re from Haworth in Yorkshire), but wow — what a find! We walked in looking like extras from Emmerdale: The Aftermath, but the staff welcomed us like we were Bollywood royalty. The owner smiled like he’d just found two long-lost cousins, and within minutes we were basking in korma-scented glory. The food? Outrageous. From the fluffy onion bhajis that nearly made me weep to a korma so rich it should’ve come with a tax bracket — everything was bursting with flavour. 10/10 would recommend — even if you’ve just crawled out of a muddy field. Spice Bistro didn’t just feed us; they restored our faith in humanity (and naan).

   My hubby and I have been coming here for years and the food is amazing! it is the best Indian food in Manchester in our opinion. The chickpea curry is delicious and there is so much choice. I have seen plenty of meat dishes come out and it all looks very nicely presented too. My hubby is vegan and they have a separate vegan menu, he has mushroom shashlik with madras sauce on the side which he loves! They have a vast knowledge about every dish they serve.. Every member of staff is just lovely and friendly! My absolute favourite place to eat out!

   I’ll start my review by saying that I’ve eaten at all the so called ‘best Indian Restaurants’ locally and to be fair there are a few good ones but often victims of their own success. However, in my opinion, Spice Bistro is up there amongst the best and from the meals I’ve eaten, it is by far the best Indian Restaurant around the Tameside and Glossop area. The meat they serve is so very tender, full of flavour and simply melts in your mouth and this is complimented by the curry sauces which have so much flavour they make you drool. The portion sizes are exceptional because they are thick and not full of oil or watery sauce and if you order a takeaway the foil container is full to the top. I can’t compliment the quality of the food enough…….it is that good. As a side note, the staff are incredibly polite, helpful and chatty but most important they are humble and respectful and this creates a happy vibe around the restaurant. If you have not eaten here before, believe me it will become your no. 1 go to restaurant for a curry. The cost of a curry from here is similar to a kebab from a takeaway and my only regret is that I haven’t eaten from here more often. The restaurant is not the biggest in the world but that’s a bonus as it allows the staff to look after their customers and give them an enjoyable experience. I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough!

   The food is amazing at this place. Every dish I tried on our football meal was exceptional and the Bangladeshi cuisine was second to none. I will definitely be going here again. Warm hospitality and pleasant atmosphere, I found the place very relaxing.

   I was so happy when we got a place like this in the village, and even happier when the food turned out to be so good. The staff have all been great, and they greet the customers like old friends. I will miss this place when I move away.
