A delicious canal side lunch. The brunch options are varied, my Turkish eggs with halloumi were excellent. Proper coffee and friendly service.
We sat outside. Was served straight away and with a smile. Water came straight away, nice touch with the thinly sliced cucumber in it. Drinks came reasonably quickly and the food order was served within good time, bearing in mind all the dishes were different and all freshly cooked. Food was superb, quality, presentation and flavours. Highly recommend.
Lovely licenced cafe by the canal - stopped for a coffee/drink mid afternoon. Sat on the veranda overlooking the canal. Husband had cider, I had coffee and apple pie. Staff were friendly and helpful - very attentive too. Lovely place to sit out and watch the ducks go by. Blankets also provided, if required. This is very common in Europe, glad to see more places in UK are doing the same, especially since lockdown. The scones and cookies looked amazing, so we got some to take away.
Pros: Food was delicious, had the tomatoes and eggs (toms a little blank though) fresh ingredients too, dad had the sausages and really enjoyed them. Had a pistachio latte to start, made really well. Had a lemon and blueberry slice and a huge slice of apple pie both were very good. Cons: Dad had a latte to finish the meal which was made by a different member of staff who made mine and it was rubbish. The staff all seemed put out that people were there and had to serve and we even spoke to another table to agreed they were rude. There were wasps everywhere and a couple of people asked to shut the doors and were told very rudely that "just ignore them". We waited for around 45 mins for our food. We did go again the next week as the food was good, but when we got to the door and the young girl rolled her eyes and said there is no room, we left. There needs to be some attitude adjustments with the young workers here and training on the coffee machine/milk foaming so all beverages have a better standard.
The food is exceptionally. It was very busy but our order came quite quickly. Everything was spot on. The soup and cheese scone were delicious. The turkish eggs and the special avo on toast with feta were amazing. The french toast was also good (although I rather wish it was served with yogurt just to balance the flavours, however this is a personal preference and it was still very good and moisty) Definitely a place that is on top of our list in this area, as everything is fresh and taste homemade
This is a great little canalside café with a broad menu of eats and a wide selection of coffees, teas and other drinks, all reasonably priced and with plenty of vegan options. There is a small car park next to the ridiculously big Brownhill Countryside Centre signs that betray what the café used to be. Please don’t park here just to go walking as the café deserves all the business it gets! There is an outside area with a view over the canal, with patio heating and purple blankets available to keep people cosy in the winter weather. Well worth a visit.
Really fantastic food always here! The setting is very lovely and tasty food and drinks. Staff are friendly and you can see why it is always so busy! Try to come for late lunch, then you will probably be luckier. We have visited many times and it never disappoints.
Fantastic place to enjoy a bite to eat with beautiful views, delectable dishes and wonderful and upbeat staff. Well worth a visit and right on the canal, a gem on the outside of the village. If you're travelling by car there's not much parking so try to find somewhere nearby or park in the village and walk down the canal. The were a good selection of choices available on the menu including a comprehensive number of drinks to choose from all for reasonable prices. It appears to be a popular destination but they do have plenty of tables so you may have a short wait but it's worth it. Outside by the canal most of the seating is for 2 people but there are a couple of tables for bigger groups on the side and out front. Inside there are plenty of tables, upstairs has great views. The staff were very friendly and eager to please. We will definitely be returning!
