Since my daughters been born we've been coming here every year around Christmas time. I have so many fond memories here, and had many lovely meals. Whilst the service was great, attentive and checked on us a good few times, explained how the new table service worked etc, unfortunately the food wasn't up to the standards I've had in previous years. We came in on a Sunday so the menu is already limited, so you'd expect everything on there to be of a high standard. We had the sunday dinners, my beef was dry, the roast potatoes tasted like they'd been deep fried and they were then blow torched, the carrot was blow torched, the cabbage had no seasoning, but on the plus side the gravy was nice and the food was hot. My daughters chicken was nice and moist too. The cauliflower cheese was really disappointing, it was oven baked cauliflower in a really wet loose sauce which had very little flavour. The previous reviews mention a change in landlordship, and maybe it was just a bad day but the atmosphere felt different too. I hope this was just a temporary issue and the standards I've known return.

Lovely olde worlde country village pub serving fine food and ales offering some tasters and nibbles with our beers as the afternoon games session commenced! Great atmosphere will be back.

First time back today after 4 years and less than impressed. Food used to be great, in particular the cheese and onion pie which was excellent in the past. Used to be unctuous and plentiful, with melted cheese oozing out of the sides! But now...bland, strangely textured and considerably smaller. Not worth the price TBH. Customer service also not great, with the once welcoming atmosphere now saddly lacking!

Tasty beautiful food, reasonably priced. Lovely warm, welcoming pub in a pretty little area of Dobcross. Would definitely recommend & will be going back soon.

Cosy local pub. Lovely decor with open fires and wooden old school vibe. Good real ales on offer like Wainwright and sunbeam. Staff have always been friendly to me. Go regularly

Dropped in after a walk. It's a lovely old pub, with a reasonable selection of beers and the food was amazing.
