Very delicious and authentic food. Love the curry buns in the afternoon! They are lovely! The dinner menu has a lot of choices as well. From tempura to sushi to udon and noodles. Great, cosy place!

This place deserves all the love. We recently moved from Toronto and have very high standards for Japanese cuisine. We were blown away by the kindness, service, and quality of the food. It has been our favourite meal in London since moving here. This place feels family fun and authentic, cozy, a place I would happily bring my Japanese parents to. We shared Udon and sushi. The Udon was the best I’ve ever had and the salmon sushi was great. The quality of the fish was standout. To top it all off, the service was attentive but not overbearing, you could tell the warm people who run this place are grateful to have you there. Could not recommend enough and we are SO grateful to have found such a hidden gem in our new neighbourhood. Thank you zen modo!

Stumbled upon this lovely little restaurant and had the best curry pan in my life! I definitely recommend the beef curry and chicken teriyaki and onion one! They are so delicious I had to go back for more. The outside is so chewy and soft then the inside tastes like a warm meal!! Highly recommend

I would argue this is the absolute best sushi you’ll get in Angel (and possibly London)! I have been coming here regularly for the last few years and I have never been disappointed. The quality of food, service, and atmosphere has been consistently excellent!

Their soft shell crab roll is pretty good. Not sure about the lettuce in it. The teriyaki salmon was quite a large portion (3 pieces of salmon) but is on the salty side. All in all pretty alright but definitely on the pricier side.

A very very lovely place. I feel so calm when I go here. So my sister discovered Zen Mondo just passing on the street, because of little pots in the window with little black cats on. And little pottery classes on Sundays was advertised and a Japanese restaurant Mon-Sat. So we went to make little pots! And it the most calming, enjoyable hour I've had for a long time. Just 12 people in the little restaurant turned pottery room. 2 weeks later we picked up our little pots and also came for dinner. We ordered 2 types of Green Tea in those satisfyingly heavy iron tea pots, miss soup (gf) sashimi, I highly reccomend the marinated mackerel, avocado and salmon seaweee rolls and udon noodles bowl. Definitely going back.

One of the best Japanese place I’ve been to in London! You get what you pay for, great taste, authentic food and amazing flavours. I loved the pork belly and the agedashi tofu! The udon texture was spot on, just the right chewiness and the shabu shabu had some great quality thin sliced meat. I definitely would recommend this place! I can’t wait to go back again and try the sukiyaki :)
