The best place to visit with family or with friends or alone. No chance to regret your decision to visit this wonderful restaurant. Very Friendly, eager to help and always there to help and kind staff. Food 10on 10 they don’t have much options for vegetarians but whatever they have is delicious at par. Must visit place. You can customize the spice level according to your taste. Today was my first day but will go as long as I can. Highly recommended. PS: please go with empty stomach cause they offer GENEROUS amount of food.

Lovely restaurant in oldham centre, I got chicken tikka on naan with chips and it was delicious. It was around £10 which is not bad seen as you are inside. The restaurant is very clean an spacious with a toilet downstairs, the car park is very small but it's not the worst thing. The restaurant staff are friendly an happy to help. Also tried the matilda cake an it was delicious.

Visited Shimlas in Oldham today. Ordered the Chicken Donner on naan and the Stir-Fry Donner with chips. Both were cooked to perfection, especially the Stir-Fry Donner, which was packed with rich flavours. I’ve been coming here for a while now, and the food is consistently spot on. However, I did notice that the portion sizes seem to have decreased compared to before. A bit more generosity with the servings would really enhance the experience. Overall, it’s a great spot, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for quality food.

I’ve heard of Shimlas before, and wanted to try this place with a friend. We arrived at around 6.30pm and the restaurant wasn’t too busy, perhaps 30% full. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and has a chill vibe. This restaurant is 100% halal, and does not serve alcohol. The food here is decently priced, and there are big and small tables which is good for various size groups. The waitress was very friendly, and she answered any questions we had about the menu. We ordered the mixed grill platter, sides, and drinks. The menu says the platter takes around 30 minutes to prepare, and it was pretty spot on. While the food was being prepared, I went to pray in the prayer room downstairs. It was carpeted and very clean. There are also separate toilets downstairs for men and women, however they were both out of order when I walked past. The food was very yummy. The mixed grill was piping hot, each element was cooked to perfection, and very flavourful. It wasn’t dripping in oil either. The sides and drinks we ordered were also good, no complaints :) Overall, I would happily bring more friends and my family to this restaurant as it offers a number of grilled options, and karahi dishes :D

Had been looking forward to coming all week, but was sorely disappointed. Firstly, I've not been to Oldham in a long time, so didn't realise how bad the parking situation would be. Literally nowhere to park, and only found a spot after driving around for ages. Walked in and was shown to our table. It was by the window and pretty cold as there seemed to be a perpetual draft coming from somewhere. There was also a raucous atmosphere with lots of people in and some stupid, annoyingly loud pop music assaulting our ears. We ordered some popadom starters (£1 each!) with a "pickle tray" that had no pickles on it - just some sauces and some red onion. Then after a good 30 minutes and some prompting our mains arrived. We ordered some cheesy chicken donners, chicken karahi, and some naans. Beware, the drinks are the small Coke bottles and are £2.50 each! Madness. They also bought too many of the naans and popadoms, but fair play they didn't charge us for them. The mains were pretty average at best. Not flavoursome, not delicious, just bang average. Really disappointed. Price was reasonable, and staff just seemed too busy to be attentive to the guests. I would go again to try once more, but would order something else.

The restaurant is located on the corner with glass windows letting in natural light adding to the atmosphere of the building. There are adequate parking areas around the restaurant with pay and display, but there is also free parking after 6pm and on Sunday. Inside the setting is nice and clean with spacious seating. They have standard rectangle tables with chairs and also booth seating for 7 plus people. The seating is spacious, comfortable and pleasant. Now onto the most important part, the food. The food is amazing, rich in flavour, fresh, hot and tasty. We ordered a range of different dishes, starters, kids, main course and their signature donner dishes. Order took 10-15 minutes to prepare and it was all hot and fresh. The naans were big, soft and filling. I would definitely recommend people to try this place. The staff were really helpful and friendly which gave us a great experience of this gem of a restaurant. Thank you for having us. As we were leaving, we didn't realise they also have a take away at the back of the building with a separate entrance to the restaurant and their own car park. So if your travelling or want to eat in at home, they have got you covered too.

This evening was the first time we've tried Shimlas, and it won't be the last!! Great food, wonderful service from the moment we arrived, especially the waitresses, who were so attentive. We had, mix starter, dynamite chicken, fish pakoras, chicken balti and naan.....can't fault it, really enjoyed it. Planning on visiting midweek and treating my parents. If you've not tried it, then we recommend that you do!
