Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars As a Level 7 Google Local Guide, I recently visited Afghan Cuisine on Wilmslow Road in Rusholme, Manchester. The restaurant boasts a warm, inviting atmosphere spread across two floors, perfect for family gatherings and groups. The food quality remains impressive. The naan and roti are consistently fluffy and delicious, earning them a 5 out of 5. The grilled chicken, or faraham, is tasty and well-prepared, though sometimes a bit overcooked, bringing it to a 4 out of 5. The Afghani pilau, their signature dish, is still flavorful, though it has slightly changed in quality over time. It’s still good, but could benefit from returning to its previous standard, earning it a 4 out of 5. The kabida is delicious and flavorful, deserving a 5 out of 5 for taste. However, the portion size has become a bit smaller recently, which is a minor downside. One small letdown was that the mint tea, usually available, was not on the menu during this visit. Previously, it was a nice touch, and hopefully, it returns soon. The decor is cozy but could benefit from a modern update to attract more customers. The upstairs area provides ample space for families, making it a comfortable environment. The washroom could use some improvement, as it’s a bit tight, but overall, the place is well-maintained and welcoming. The staff is generally friendly, though there’s room for improvement in communication, especially regarding extra charges. In conclusion, Afghan Cuisine remains a fantastic spot with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious food! Seems a simple menu at first but everything that comes out is amazing and crafted with love. The bread is exquisite and the Afghan rice is beautiful. Already looking forward to going back and eating here again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “A wonderful Afghan dining experience!” I recently visited Afghan Cuisine Restaurant and was truly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious — full of authentic flavours, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. My favourites were the [insert your favourite dishes, e.g., Kabuli Pulao, Mantu dumplings, or lamb kebabs], which tasted homemade and comforting. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The restaurant itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere — perfect for both family meals and special occasions. If you’re looking to enjoy authentic Afghan food in a friendly setting, I can’t recommend Afghan Cuisine Restaurant enough. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This Afghan restaurant never disappoints. The quality of the food is exceptional, with rich flavors and perfectly balanced spices. The hospitality and atmosphere make the experience even more enjoyable. Truly one of the finest places to experience authentic Afghan cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone looking for outstanding food and service.

We didn’t have a great experience at this restaurant. The food quality—specifically the Kabuli Pulao with half chicken and the Kobedah kebab—was poor and didn’t seem healthy. The pricing was reasonable, but that was the only positive aspect. Not recommended

Yesterday I went there for eating dinner, for eating my first meal in Manchester after a long trip, I ate my middle eastern food, it was good and tasty food, but their spoons and forks were plastic I hate it, and one another thing they use a type of spicy and put in every food, I don't like it, taste like Indian foods, however, have a clean place with respectful staff.

Food was delicious. Best place to explore the authentic Arabian dishes. Actually it was suggested by a friend and no doubt, it was really a 'worth visiting' place for Arabian food lovers. Cash only payment was the only -ve I found in here and taking 1 star for that.Hopefully they'll sort it soon.

This is our first visit since the pandemic and nothing has changed. The food is still wonderfully cheap, tasty and generous. We ordered 3 main dishes (with rice or bread) that all came with salad and sauces. Even though the price has gone up, it still worked out less than £8 per person for the 6 of us. The 3 dishes' portion was enough to feed 6 adults. Would definitely go there again.

So this place is actually serving authentic Afghani cuisine. I tried their faham with rice, which is chicken cooked in a tight grill over the coal with kabuli pilau which is the famous rice that people from Afghanistan eat it does not have a lot of spice but has sliced carrots and raisins which gives it an amazing taste. I wanted to order chicken kebab but unfortunately they do not have minced chicken kebab instead of that I tried their lamb kebab which turned out to be absolutely fantastic. Their red (salsa) sauce is delicious. If you are going there just make sure you order some rice to takeaway for the next day and trust me, I am regretting not ordering some extra rice for the next day...
