Dropped in on a whim for lunch and it turned out to be a good choice. I went for the beef rib, my daughter had the children’s turkey roast, and my wife chose the trio of roast ( roast beef, roast turkey and roast pork). The beef was fantastic , genuinely melt in the mouth, and the turkey was every bit as tender. Portions were more than enough on and everything tasted great. The staff were superb, particularly with my six year old daughter. They made a real effort to entertain her, moving the Elf on the Shelf around the place so she had to keep looking for it each. It a simple thing but small gestures like this really help as it kept her entertained and made the whole visit feel relaxed. Atmosphere wide it was really pleasant and welcoming, a really nice pub well worth a visit. Overall the food was delicious, reasonably priced and far better than we expected.

Enjoyed a fantastic Sunday dinner at The Griffin, with generous servings of meats, rich gravy, and a towering Yorkshire pudding. The service today was excellent, attentive without feeling rushed. I would happily recommend this pub to anyone nearby. The menu offered plenty of tempting choices. Although it was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday, the quality of the food and service remained outstanding. The only slight disappointment was the potatoes, which lacked the same standard as the rest of the meal. That said, given how flawless everything else was, I am confident it was a one-off and suspect the abnormally peaceful pub was the reason for the dry potatoes. Nothing the delicious gravy couldn't handle though!

Not really sure I can review as I didn’t get to experience much. Friendly greeting in a traditional village pub but sadly that’s as far as I got. No food was being served at 7:45 on a weekday, perhaps common knowledge for some. The usual lagers on draft and plenty of private seating.

We came for a group Christmas lunch having pre-ordered. Unfortunately the system had messed up the kids' orders and duplicated those, but thankfully we were able to cancel once we realised we had too many starters. The food was mixed. Some dishes were much better than others (take the beef cheek over the cod, terrine over prawns). The kids got quite a lot so for littles you might not need a dish each, especially if you have a fussy eater. They let us bring a birthday cake in and helped us with knife, plates and cutlery to serve. I'd tried the mince pie sundae and it was massive and so indulgent. If you don't have a sweet tooth, don't like cream or don't have a big appetite leave it. It was too much really. Large pub and they gave us a long table at the back with a bench and seats, which was good for us. Lovely decorations. Little bit cold though by the windows behind the bench. Toilets were quite cold too. Service was marvellous. Attentive without being too intrusive.

My children loved the food here and ate all of it. It is a great place for kids and families with wide range of menu choices. The chicken burger received very high praise indeed! Also we were very well looked after by Sian. Most mains seem a bit too rich like the cod pictured but I did find healthy vegetable soup also which was very nice.

Me, my wife and daughter ate here on our daughter's recommendation and we're glad we did. The standard menu offered good choices but we all took the opportunity to opt for the specials board. The food was delicious. The vegetarian and vegan options were particularly welcome. In short, The Griffin is highly recommended if you are looking for friendly staff and great food
