Chef Diao Manchester is definitely the spot for authentic Hong Kong–style dim sum. We really enjoyed most of the dishes — great flavour, fresh ingredients, and plenty of variety to choose from. Portions were generous and prices felt reasonable for the quality and serving size. The place can get a bit noisy, but that’s all part of the lively Hong Kong dim sum experience. A solid choice if you’re craving classic Cantonese dishes in a casual, bustling setting. Will return!

Amazing!! The loveliest staff and incredible food options. I went for the dim sum and bao buns, but my friends went for the kung pao prawns and the satay chicken. We were all really happy with our food and the staff were so lovely. Made us feel so welcome and gave some great tips on what to try!

Came here for lunch during work day and got the business lunch. 2 starters and a main with rice for £12 cant beat that. Very nice food, quick service and right in the centre. Would definitely come back especially for lunch as quick service was great.

I have been here many times and the food is still top quality. They do traditional dishes and taste much better than the quality you'd get in London. I would say this is one of the better Chinese restaurants in Manchester. Special dishes to try are the hand pulled noodles and sweet and sour pork. The dim sum is also good here as well. The atmosphere is okay, not a huge place but quiet enough to have a group conversation. The waitress was friendly and patient.

I recently dined at Chef Diao, and it was an outstanding experience! The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for family dinners or a night out with friends. The menu offers a fantastic selection of authentic Chinese dishes, and every bite was bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the Casserole, it was cooked to perfection! The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing our experience even further. Overall, I can’t wait to return and explore more of their delicious offerings!

Excellent Chineese food, the crispy fried noodles wins.. Their famous for the Dim-Sum but we didn’t eat pork. and most Dim sums filling is mixed with pork meat or fat. Puck choi with garlic was heavenly. Service is fast and great. Dishes are large in quantity. Will try the fried aubergine next time. I recommend this restaurant if you are craving for delicious Chinese food. Don’t forget to drink jasmine tea too. You might need to wait in line if you arrive around 7 pm.

Pics from 2 visits. Both been very good and consistent in quality. Dim sums are freshly steamed and therefore tastier, unlike some restaurants that re-steam or keep steaming them for ages for a quick service. Texture of the noodles (supposedly homemade I think) is nice. Recommend in particular steamed dumplings, noodles and siu mai. Place is clean and decent in size but isn't as big as the typical Chinese restaurants in Chinatown or nearby, so go early or late to avoid having to queue.

Amazing Food overall, make my day whenever I am here for some classic Chinese cuisine dishes, to be honest, it can't go wrong to dine here, one of my go to restaurant since I have arrived Manchester

Best Chinese food I've eaten (ever?!). The prawn wonton noodle soup was a real highlight - wontons filled with plump prawns and delicious homemade noodles. The spring onion pancakes were also amazing - so flakey. They have a different menu pre-6pm but the staff were so nice and let us order from this menu even though we went at 8pm. Big portions and lovely staff. Thanks so much for a great evening

Fantastic place. One of the best dim sum places in Manchester. It's a relatively small place so quality is good. Every dish we've tried is great. Not much else to say besides a definite recommend.
