Very good Chippy. The best in the area. After going here for years and tonight getting a last minute Mini Fish & Chips and a Kebab Meat with Chips - I felt compelled to provide a well deserved review. ❤️
Passing through and popped in for to go food in the car. Service was fine and the fish was delicious. Chips were fine, but the pasty was prepackaged. Good for taking away, but not road trip food.
All the way from Sutton Coldfield we stopped off to try this chip shop. The Fish and chips were the best. The smiling staff were great. Can't wait to go again.
We found this on Google Maps while travelling on the M42. It is literally only a few minutes off the motorway. Glad we did. Really friendly service, chunky piece of cod in tasty batter, perfectly cooked chips. One of the best chip shops I have been to.
Best fish and chips in the area. Use the ability to order online and the food will be packed up and waiting for you to collect. All v efficient.
Being veggie/vegan, I went for chips and mushy peas. Chips were crispy but very smooth and fluffy inside - perfect. Peas, on the other hand, were extremely salty. I couldn’t eat them so that was half my meal wasted. Bit dissapointed.
A truly ‘Awful’ experience, bare in mind this was a Wednesday when there were very few customers. Initially told I had to wait 5 minutes for some nuggets. 20 minutes later I was asked to wait another 5 minutes. At that point I requested a refund and instead of an apology the manager simply said “aww come on mate, just wait for your food” Eventually I got a refund and was told my food will be with me in….yes, another 5 minutes, absolutely embarrassing. Safe to say I walked out at this point (without food) More staff than customers and yet clearly unable to stick to their own timescales. Certainly the last time my family and I will be using Nelson’s and I’ll be sure to share my experience with friends in the area. Avoid!!!
Absolutely disgusted by the portion size from this shop this evening. Paid good money for a measly amount of a poor standard. Not expecting the Earth, just a fair amount for what we paid. Opinion based on other local fish shops, all in the same price brackets.
The best fish n chips for me and I’ve tried many in The Midlands. Enthusiastic staff who are very quick at completing your order. There’s always a queue …for a reason.
