   Just visited as do gullen free food monday to wednesday. Food was cooked in front of you and you know its fresh and hot. Staff really freindly. Reasonable prices and a lot of choice on the board. Not sure if due to being midweek but things not avalible to order from the board. Would have been 5 stars but due to limited choice only a 4. Will return as chips best we had for a while. Hopefully will be well stocked up next time. Thank you for today.

   Friendly staff and owner, they always make you feel welcome and make conversation. Good chippy, good prices for the area and great food in Generous portion sizes. We live locally and I usually choose this place over the others. There's rarely a long wait as they keep the queue moving well and usually have plenty of freshly cooked fish etc ready. Recommended

   I used this chippy for the first time (and the last) in many years. Used to be great but was horrendous tonight. The large fish was more like medium and the small fish was very small. Over cooked, hard and tasteless. The chips were worse. Soggy and greasey, very brown in colour and tasted horrible. Maybe the disinterested and bored looking staff thought they were doing me a favour in giving me a very large helping of them. Will never go back even if they were free. Wouldn't feed this awful food to my dogs.

   Just bought two large bags of chips for the family to share, and I have never had such awful chips in my life. SO, SO disappointing. They were definitely warmed up from the afternoon, greasy, limp and brown! Some even had mushy peas on them and we didn’t order mushy peas. I hate leaving a bad review but when the whole family were looking forward to a chippy dinner all day, and I get back with that, disappointing for all of us. Sorry but won’t be going back again.

   Been here as long as I can remember - one of the Mere Green fixtures. Always serve excellent fish & chips, and the doner kebab isn't bad either. Still good value for money, especially as we usually manage a large f&c between us :-)
