The food at Ocean Fry is the best fish and chips i have had in a long time. Service is great as well. Chips aren't not greasy fish is white and the batter not to thick. The kebabs are really good as well. My new go to fish shop.
Passed this chippy en-route, and it smelt delicious! - so we stopped and gave it a try - glad we did! The owner is friendly and polite, the food was FANTASTIC - best local (Birmingham) chippy we've tried in years, and just sad that we only found it as we were moving away! :( I had fish 'n' chips, and the fish was absolutely delicious, generous size, cooked to perfection, and the batter was really tasty too. The chips were really high quality, and we were lucky enough to be passing after 5pm (we found out they offer battered orange chips after 5pm) - WOW! - we tried them, and polished off the lot - incredibly tasty, and very unusually for my wife, she finished ALL of hers - that alone says something! I can't recommend this chippy enough, and they deserve to do well - they clearly take pride in the food that they serve, and they do it with a friendly, cheerful attitude! EDIT / UPDATE: Forgot to mention - we've been lucky enough to nip in here a few times while moving house, and I have to add, that the quality is consistently great! - I've had the battered sausages a couple of times too, and they're honestly really tasty - better than others I've tried recently - keep up the good work, guys!
Really good chippie since the new owners took over, very pleasant people. Food is lovely and fresh, with good quality ingredients and generous portions. So glad to finally have a good chip shop in the area, as the others are very poor standard and lacking customer service skills. Would thoroughly recommend ocean fry if you want good quality food cooked well and served with a smile
Great piece of fish (medium) with chips. Tartare sauce supplied with the fish was smashing. We sat inside and ate, it took a little while for the food to come, obviously cooked to order. Just what we needed from a visit to the coast.
The chip shop has not long been under new management with changes to the old menus. One new addition is the orange battered chips! This is a great idea and I’m surprised other chip shops have not thought of introducing the same option. You can still purchase regular chips but from after 5pm you have the choice of regular or battered. The battered chips taste great! Almost like mini scallops. I can tell they are popular also after seeing other customers purchase them. These go great with curry sauce or mushy peas. I would definitely return for these alone as they taste great. I would recommend anyone to try them at least once as its quite unique for a chip shop to offer these at this point in time.
Tiny Portions, big prices. Seem to care more about the interior decorating. And the menus are too small to read
The food and the staff are lovely, Most food is cooked to order so is nice and fresh unlike others that have it sitting there for God knows how long. I Don't mind paying a bit more on a treat night to get quality food and service. You get what you pay for and they certainly do not disappoint

Ordered large kebab for £6.99 and when I got it it felt very light so I opened it to look. What I saw was half a pitta bread with a bit of meat on top with sauce on top of that. No salad no pitta bread on top. When I took it back and showed the girl she didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with it. She did apologise then another member of staff asked her why she was apologising. When I challenge her she said the other girl was talking to someone else. Requested a refund. Felt like I was in a kindergarten with no supervisor. Shame as I’ve been there a few times previously and had not experienced anything like I did today. I won’t experience it again as I will not be going there again.
The was great food staff really friendly food was freshly cooked and I would highly recommend that you try it
