   The food was extremely disappointing and completely lacked taste. Everything was bland, poorly seasoned, and not enjoyable at all. I honestly regret ordering from here. This was a waste of money, and I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they seriously improve the quality and flavor of their food. Using the name Monal creates high expectations, as the original Pakistani Monal is famous for its outstanding, fresh, and home-style food. Unfortunately, our experience was completely opposite. The food quality was very poor. The dishes were not fresh, had no proper taste, and were completely bland. We ordered a platter, but it was served without raita or yogurt, which are basic accompaniments. When we called to reserve a table, the staff’s attitude over the phone was rude and unprofessional, which created a negative impression from the start. However, one Sardar female staff member was polite, innocent, and genuinely tried her best — her effort is appreciated. We have eaten at the original Pakistani Monal multiple times, and the difference between that and this restaurant is huge — like day and night. If this restaurant wants to keep the name Monal, they seriously need to hire a better team and improve food quality. Otherwise, it would be better to change the name, because the current quality does not justify it. Overall, the experience was disappointing. Both time and money were wasted.

   Brought a large tawa for takeaway, as stated to the cashier it was for my mother’s birthday meal at home. The chicken balti had a circular plastic cooked in it, I called the restaurant straight away to report this to solve this without bringing it to a review, I was told I’d get a callback after 5 mins, after the cashier has spoken to the chef. However, it has now been several hours and I am not happy. Makes me question the hygiene rating and contamination within the food. The fact that we were the only customers in the restaurant as well, how could such a mistake be done? Not happy and very disappointed. Also quite embarrassed that guests had to see this as we were serving this.

   Excellent customer service with delicious food. The staff were very helpful & greeted us with a smile, not something you get in Birmingham. They kept asking if anything else is required. We ordered a small tawa sharing for two people. The portion was more than enough, could be shared among 3 people depending on your appetite. The highlight for me was the cheese seekh kebabs which were very much alike to the Monal restaurant in Islamabad, Pakistan. The food was freshly prepared & was piping hot when it came to our table. It was perfectly spiced, taste delicious & worth the money. If you are looking for quality food this is definite the place to visit. The ambience is simple yet welcoming. The only thing I would say is the onions on the tawa plate were completely burnt so couldn't eat those. That is something to be looked to be improved. Apart from that definitely will be visiting again soon. Keep up the good work guys & i hope you keep the consistency of your service.

   Came here with friends. Ordered the Tawa and 2 karahi dishes lamb karahi and chicken karahi. The Tawa food was nice . The karahis were ok however its not a place I'd come for just for a karahi. The mojitos were standard . The service was excellent . The inner decor was not to my liking abit on the dull side to be honest .

   My first visit to Monal. The place itself is quite small. We ordered the tawa grill which is their speciality. The food arrived pretty quick and was fresh. However, the food itself was average, nothing special. Bu the chicken sheesh kebabs were nice. You don't get a curry with the tawa like you do with the other places. I personally think the tawa is overly priced for what you get. And they were refusing to accept card payment although they accept card payments and had a card machine!

   We had a medium mix platter, food was lovely and piping hot. The meat balti was tasty too. Naans are very soft. Definitely recommend.

   Very mixed reviews on here but I must have been lucky as we had a lovely time. The place is small so I can imagine it getting very busy very quickly. There was 11 of us and we did not pre-book but managed to find tables to cater for us all. We were seated upstairs and upon sitting down I noticed a cold draft as there was a door open letting in cold air. Having read some of the comments, I can see why this was an issue. I spoke to management and they simply closed the door so not sure why other people did not do the same. As there were so many of us, you can imagine there were a lot of people to please. Our waiter was very accommodating and tended to our needs. The food did take a while to come out but the place was busy so we were patient. As I knew the mixed grill was going to take some time, I asked that the children’s food be served first as they were hungry but this did not happen until I reminded them. When the burgers did arrive, the buns and patties were very nice. The main show was the mixed grill which was excellent! The meat was well cooked and there was plenty of it so no one was left feeling short changed. I can see how this place is hit and miss depending on what time you go but we were very satisfied. Keep up the good work guys!
