Just had battered chips pie mushy peas couldn’t eat it it was horrible the chips were all limp and greasy no meat in the pie pastry was doughy you can’t see what s going on behind the counter strange set up not going there again

My first visit and now my favourite fish and chip shop. Staff are wonderful, food is excellent, premises are spotless. Highly recommended.
I have been eating from here since the day it had opened. The consecutive best chip shop of the year awards that these guys have earned, still doesn't reflect the quality of the food that the serve, and the superior customer service that they provide! It is always a delight to enter into this shop. Very professional, very polite and all in all the best chip shop in the West Midlands and a real contestant for the best in the country! Keep up the good work.
Been waiting to try the chips from The Port for ages, but there’s always been a queue or it’s been closed. Just by off chance today, it was open with no queue. A clean, tidy place and welcoming staff. Social distancing rules being applied to good effect. They only accept cash currently, not sure if they accept card. But there is a cash point next door. I requested a medium tray of battered chips, to which I was told by the Asian gent serving me they’re cooked in beef dripping (this is excellent customer service in my opinion, as normally I don’t eat beef (being Hindu) and that he’s thinking for the customer, so thank you for that). The chips on the other hand, are absolutely amazing, pipping hot, fresh and the batter is light and isn’t as heavy as some places. It hasn’t been heavily salt or too much vinegar put on. The curry sauce is nice and moorish. I’ve waited so long for battered chips and The Port has done very good. Highly recommend and I will be back for other and to try other items on the wide selection menu. There is few parking spaces on the side down Tudor road or you can park on the main road
