I wish I took pictures as proof but long hair found underneath chips and it was clearly the women who’s at front taking orders…the food was cold and overall the place is dirty I won’t be going back and don’t recommend they only thing I’ve heard good about this place is the tea but after finding hair in my food it’s put me off
we go shopping in Bilston every Saturday and when we are ready to go home we buy chips to make a few butties we purchased a bag of chips at £2.90 we didn't realize until we got home that the chips had been put in a small burger tray literally a handful of chips wasn't enough to make 2 chip butties very disappointed with stans bar , we shop in bilston to get value for money (times are getting hard) so this was VERY DISSAPOINTING ...
This fish bar is absolutely fantastic! I'm usually in there on Saturday morning, and the breakfasts do not disappoint! All the food is cooked and served so well, the staff are very polite and have brilliant customer service. The prices as well are cheaper than what you expect, and in this day and age, having a Saturday morning treat that leaves change in your back pocket is a winner! Thanks you.
Having decided to eat at Stans instead of majors, we had a while to wait to sit down as it was busier than usual. We ordered and had to wait for nearly 40 mins for the food to be brought out. The place was freezing cold and full of people just chatting over coffee and not eating, whilst others were waiting to sit down to eat. The toilet facilities were in a state of disrepair, and no clear signage to indicate male or female. I believe it has new management there and they were running around like headless chickens. I won't be going back in a hurry anytime soon. Come on new owners, buck your ideas up.
I had fish and chips from here recently it was one of the best I ever had. This wasn't my 1st visit to Stan's as I went here 3-4 year ago it was delicious. I recommend this place to people
Many, many years ago, Stan's Fish Bar used to be a cracking chippy. It's been a good 10 years since I had stan's. I had a cone of chips and they were lovely and crisp.
Sadly this once thriving cafe and takeaway is a mere shadow of its former self. While the staff were not the quickest, they were polite, and could maybe benefit from learning to clean the tables. Unfortunately we couldn't find a clean table, so chose the least dirty to sit at, and used one of the available paper napkins to wipe it ourselves. The food was cooked to order, so we knew it was as fresh as could be, and when it arrived at our table we were impressed by the size of the portions and how well it was presented. The meal was cooked to perfection and very tasty. It was also very reasonably priced, as the same meal would have cost us more in Wetherspoons! With just a little time spent cleaning the tables, it would have been easy to rate this cafe higher. I hope this will be the case, as I would like to return here again for their lovely food.
Absolutely disgusting food, I had bacon, sausage and egg sandwich, sausage n bacon was like it had been cooked yesterday egg was ok, bread was hard, my partner had pie and chips with gravy, the pie was definitely off, smelt like rotten fish, place need shutting down, it need a good clean, its dirty!! Should of walked out as soon as we walked in. Stay clear!!
