   Had the "Festive Christmas" Afternoon Tea. Great value for money at £18.95 delicious and plentyful. Friendly young waiters Cai and Caitlin did a great keeping us happy with tea/coffee refills and hats off to the chef for the delicious food. Cosy, warm Christmas atmosphere - loved it!

   We had a lovely lunch here. The pub was very cosy with a log burner going. We were served by Cai and he was very pleasant We will definitely be back again and will bring our dog next time.

   Lovely place, food amazing, chips massive and brilliant, staff great really smiley and did not bat an eye at our strand table requests lactose free, gluten free, low fat all taken care off. Definitely going back again

   11.10.25. Nipped past on our way back from a day out. Was very hungry so happy it wasnt busy. Bar man was decent, very welcoming and chatty. I had Fish, chips and peas. The chips saved the day, they were very nice. Unfortunately the Fish even though was tasty was possibly the worst fish in terms of content I've had. There was very little fish, more batter than fish and the crushed peas were dry and cold. I expected so much more from this chain of restaurant. Wont rush back I'm afraid.

   Went based on previous reputation. Was a Sunday lunchtime, we booked. Booking system said unavailable at 1:30pm but had availability at 1:15pm and 1:45pm. So we expected it to be busy. When we got there, place was empty with only 1 other group of 4 at an inside table. Place was dingy and we were put in conservatory on next table to the other group. The table was drop leaf type and the gap between was crammed with crumbs. We nearly walked out at this point. Food was well presented and tasty but portion size was small for the price. Service was friendly but very slow considering the place was empty, we waited over half an hour for the food to arrive. When I got home I did some research which, with hindsight I should have done before. The food hygiene rating from May 2025, 3 months ago, was only a 1. We won't be going again

   Nice pub, lovely home made steak pie with proper pastry, not that puffy flaky stuff, plus great chips. Will be going back just for the pie, wife really enjoyed here chicken dish.

   The Sunday roast was ok at best, let's say it's worth what you pay, almost. Let down by service, waiting so long for the dessert menu and to order dessert. It's not like we asked for a lot of attention so sadly disappointed.

   Great atmosphere at a lunch time visit. Enjoyed the sharing board between friends. Only downside was the coffee machine didn't do decaffeinated it was instant.
