   Last week we tried fish and chips from Hallcroft after spending ages trying to find a good local chippie. We have finally found the best! And we loved it so much, today we tried the kebabs and they were also excellent! Great food, great value, great service from lovely people. We will be back!

   Visiting some relatives from down south. The quality of the fish was exceptional. Also had a chicken kebab wrap which was delicious. The owners and staff were very friendly and polite.

   If I could rate customer service zero stars I would. Went in tonight and was surprised there was no queue. Despite this unfortunately we didn’t get served straight away as the two staff behind the counter were too busy chatting. When we eventually got served, the lady was very rude and continued to chat to her colleague despite not fully taking our order. Our first meal that we ordered was sat wrapped up going cold whilst they were deep in conversation so we made the decision to leave and go elsewhere. Very disappointing.

   The food is great, service is great, but my issue is that on almost every visit, you have to order, then wait. I understand that in todays economic climate it is difficult, but it's a fish bar, but you have to wait for the fish to be battered and fried, why can't some be ready.

   The best Chip shop in Retford. Food taste lovely and always hot. Yes you may have to wait now and again, but that's because it is so popular that a lot of people go there and order ahead. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. If there was 10 stars I would give them a full 10. Prices are really good and you get good amount for what you pay. I always go there after work at least twice a week

   This must be one of the best fish & chip shops that I've ever used. The quality is great - tasty fish with a nice thick crunchy batter and chips which have a good bite and not soggy. A standard portion is really large - however they do what they call 'mini' portions which are more like standard portions elsewhere. The shop and staff are well presented. The service is warm and friendly but efficient - you rarely have to wait long, even at busy periods. This place is close to where we live but is well worth travelling to for a top quality meal.
