Really happy with the service at the king on the lane, all the staff was really friendly and the food was lovely! I can already see the positive impact the new landlord Jack has made and I’m excited to come back. Definitely recommend a visit!
Came to check out safe access for a wheelchair. But No disabled parking!! The pub is the edge of a large shopping area so very busy roads. Unsafe for wheelchairs to navigate. Staff unaware of lack of disabled parking. Only the adjoining service access road would facilitate drop off but access not allowed. Website has disabled icon?
First time I've been here I live in meanwood thought I'd go for a bus ride and came across this place seems. Like a nice friendly pub cheap beer too
Myself and a friend visited on Saturday for the first time since the pandemic started. We were so glad we did, the staff were very welcoming, the pub was extremely clean, fresh, bright and well decorated ready for Halloween. The food we ordered was well cooked and presented, it tasted fantastic too. We struggled to find any fault, the only thing we could think of was the was too many chips for us personally. The gammon was cooked exactly as we asked and service was very prompt. Desserts were to die for, again served quickly and presented well. Surprisingly impressed much better than the previous visits we have had there. We'll done to all.
The only place I’ve been where I feel as safe as can be considering the situation. Pristine, friendly and welcoming without breaking social distance, lovely. I am really happy to have The King on the lane as my local pub.
At first appearance this place has come a long way from the old penny fun However.. This place is very much the same as the penny fun off the old days.. *new landlords have tried to roll it in glitter but the clientele will never change it seems. Owners - landlords - seem to be aggressive and rude , or annoying over friendly Drunks Who like to impose there presence on the clientele who spend more money. So this isnt the place to go for a couples night or quiet meal.The food takes an hour to arrive then it was missing sides or sauces. The hole experience was well below expectations.
