   First off ide just like to state that this 'subsidised' canteen is sold by the company as a perk of working here. STAFF - are friendly and helpful and do there best, many of them have the same opinions as the customers... But no complaints here. PRICES - to say this is a "subsidised" business... Prices particularly for the dinner shift is poor. Nothing about £1.20 for a can of pop, £1.50 for a cookie or £3 for two small chicken tenders says value to me... To buy a sandwich, crisps and drink is no cheaper than buying from a Tesco or Asda. It appears that the only subsidising or thought that goes into pricing for the office staff on day shift. To add, the menu's are hard to understand at times and don't usually have anything to do with food at dinner times, individual items are not labeled or priced, no rule as to how much of how much of something you're allowed to have of an item... All of which leads to daily confusion at the till, angry customers and workers frustrated. FOOD - The food is prepared fine, never had anything undercooked or unsafe. Taste wise, I personally find most of it quite bland and dry that being said some of the mystery curry is quite nice, and when you can work out what the meal deal is and what sides you can/can't have then you can usually get enough food to see yourself through a shift. Again dry and bland to be expected though when some of the food is leftovers from days shift, rewarmed and twice the cost... Especially if you're not office staff.

   Every day before lunch, the same food: fries in stale oil, dried-out bacon, undercooked chicken... poor selection (how can they serve workers fries and pizza for breakfast every day? The food should be more nutritious!). The refrigerators are also deficient. The only positive is the service, although each person at the checkout quotes a different price. I can pay £1.60 and sometimes £2.00 for the same food. They offer a wider variety of dishes on weekend shifts. Why can't this be continued during the week?

   Consistently raw sausage (every day), undercooked pizza (thin burned crust surrounding raw dough), undercooked flakey pastry that's slightly flakey on the outside but still dough under the surface, are some of the delights that await you. Complaints fall on deaf ears and sometimes generate ridiculous responses. For example, when a hard undercooked jacket potato was returned with the comment "This is still raw, can I have one that's cooked", the response from the chef was "You'll be lucky to find one, the delivery was late". Another time I asked why the sausages were not cooked, I was told it's because they're not one one level in the oven, they're piled on top of eachother. The possibility that perhaps the wrong cooking method is being used seemed to puzzle him. The girls that work the tills are great. Always helpful and polite. There is one self service till that only has half of the barcodes items sets up in its database, so most of the time it sits unused with large queues at the manned tills. There is an iPad next to the till that enables you to select items if the barcode doesn't work. However, you're not allowed to use that because they don't trust you to select the correct item. I found out when I read a sign above it that states "Only barcodes items through this till". The barcoded item wouldn't scan so I selected it. When I got told I shouldn't do that I suggested that the sign should be reworded so that it's clear that only scannable items can be purchased. The response I got was "F**k off". Quite often they run out of cutlery too and we have to use wooden cutlery. However, the decor is pleasant and there's a large TV showing the NEWS on mute with no subtitles.
