We went on a Wednesday just be for they shut at 2pm so there were not many in but we enjoyed it and the landlord was a humerus and welcoming character.

I have left a review before and was really happy with our meals. But I wanted to do a special update. We got married on the 6th of September 2025 and decided to have our reception at The Gate in Langwith. Phil, Denise and the staff were fantastic, listened to what we wanted and had no issues with my requests. On the day we turned up and Denise had decorated the tables in the orangery beautifully. The meal was at the very high standard we have come to love from the chefs and could not fault any part of it. All our guests said it was a beautiful meal and it made our day even more memorable. I cannot praise Phil, Denise and the staff enough. Thank you all for the best day. Karen and Mike xxx We will add pictures as soon as we can x

Top-Notch Sunday Roast! Had a fantastic Sunday dinner at The Gate Hotel in Upper Langwith! From the moment we walked in, the staff were welcoming and attentive, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The roast dinner was absolutely spot onβtender meat, crispy roast potatoes, fluffy Yorkshire puddings, and plenty of rich, tasty gravy. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, just like a proper traditional Sunday roast should. Portion sizes were generous without being over the top, and the whole meal was great value for money. We finished off with dessert and it was just as deliciousβproper comfort food done right. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quality Sunday roast in a cosy setting. Weβll definitely be coming back!

A great hotel, downtown right beside the Ginza district shops and restaurants and the main station. Rooms are 5 star standard, and the breakfast is fantastic and includes Western options. Friendly helpful staff with pretty good English speaking. Relaxing lobby area for drinks and a terraced area with outside heaters.

This being my 1st visit here for a family pre Christmas gathering on a Sunday lunch time for a Carvery. There's a carpark at the back of the building for about 30 cars & does get busy .Once inside I noticed the place had been very impressively decorated for the festive season. Already having pre booked a table for 11 & apparently in the conservatory .The table arrangements did have slate reserved signs on them but no names so it's confusing which table is yours,so an inquiry was needed .Cash or card payments are accepted at the bar which does also have a large room seating area & you also pay for the meals at the bar & receive a ticket to hand in for for the carvery .The Carvery had a choice of 4 different meats ,numerous vegetables & potatoes along with gravy & sauces .I really enjoyed the meal in the decorative conservatory surroundings & noticed the landlord does mingle with his customers & is very funny. I did view the menu & this does offer an extensive range of food options aswel .I did enjoy the experience apart from the initial table situation, the conservatory is lovely setting to enjoy a meal whether as a couple or in a group .I would recommend it

Always stop here when visiting family in the area. This was the first time we had the carvery and were not disappointed. Moist meat and well cooked veggies. Loved it

You won't get a better carvery for the price anywhere. The rest of the menu is very good too with a nice range of meals, starters and desserts. The staff and owners are lovely, it's a family business and it shows. We would recommend this great venue to all.

The food was great and very large portions. We were the only ones there so the atmosphere was weird. The lad serving us was great but he was on his own and also serving behind the bar. On occasions when it is busier I think it would be better. They do a carvery on a Sunday and I would imagine that would be good.
