Finally made it to Dishoom Birmingham and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I’d been hearing about it for a long time, reserved it months in advance, and I’m so glad I did. The service was fast and smooth, and the food was genuinely amazing. The okra fries were outstanding, the chai was comforting and perfect, the roti was spot on, and the chicken curry was incredibly tasty. Honestly, everything we tried was great. This is one of those places where you leave wishing you had time to go back again before leaving the city. If you’re in Birmingham, I’d definitely recommend trying Dishoom.

We really enjoyed our visit to Dishoom. Exciting noisy and bustling atmosphere, very busy of course. Had a bit of a wait but well looked after and chance to grab a drink. Our server was awesome and really great guy. The food was good but wouldn't say it was great or the best value. But we of course enjoyed it all and had a thoroughly great time.

Dishoom recently announced they were going to expand their chain to the US, and with the level of exceptional service and quality of food that is constant throughout their restaurants, I have no doubt it’ll do incredibly well in the American market as well. We came to the Birmingham branch on a Friday evening wanting a table for two, and were told that we had about an hour and a half wait ahead. We stayed in the queue and were served some chai while we browsed the menu, and after about twenty minutes we were led inside to get drinks from the bar, which is so immaculately presented. I would say that the drinks could have a bit of a stronger kick as I couldn’t taste much of the spirits in the cocktail. After around 20 minutes at the bar as well, we were led to our seats and asked if we were celebrating an occasion, to which I told the lovely waitstaff it was my boyfriend’s birthday. Pietro was essentially serving the vicinity we were seated at, and his service was truly impeccable. The food, as always and compared to the London branches, were 10/10. I would recommend to ask them to tone down the spice level if you aren’t great with spice. Throughout the meal we were asked how everything was, and all the other waiters/waitresses were super helpful with things we wanted to add on— service was also very quick in terms of food. After our meal, my boyfriend was surprised with an amazing, decadent chocolate cake and ice cream (which I didn’t even request)! Which just totally made our experience. I could not recommend this restaurant more and I would highly advise anyone to make a booking in advance (although the wait does add to the experience ;))

I doubt I can add much new to the terrific reviews provided by others. We had an excellent lunch with work colleagues of my partner. We were a large enough group (9) to try numerous dishes. So many great choices by our Birmingham hosts. The deal was the best I've ever had, the lamb outstanding and the chicken biryani delicious. I would have cheerfully made a meal of the garlic Naan - hot, fresh and very garlicky. Can be busy - a reservation would be worth it. Nov 26, 25 C&J

Dishoom is always super busy whenever we walked past, and has got plenty of reviews! We decided to try it for lunch, booked a table, were served fairly quickly. The atmosphere is quite nice, with lots of vintage trinkets/ products and posters. There is water provided for the table. Our bill was over £140 for 4 of us which is a bit steep. They also add the service charge straight on the bill. The food was ok, not worth the price at all. Some dishes were nice, others not so nice. Would probably not bother going back, it’s over-hyped/ over-rated…

Such a brilliant restaurant, service's fantastic, food out of this world. Such great taste and good portions sizes. The decor is varibtant and set in old Indian railway station. The Birmingham Dishoom is very spacious and bright. If you want treat your family the places recommended to go to. Also do a breakfast portions, which is also highly recommended.

Last night I hosted my first singles event at Dishoom and everything was quite frankly superb. Harriet and her team were absolutely amazing and really were attentive of my guests. The planning of the event was seamless and was executed with no issues at all. The food was amazing and all the guests had such a fantastic time. The food was flavoursome and delicious and served all in a timely manner. This is a great restaurant to host private events or just simply dine. I would most certainly recommend a visit.

First Class. A complicated menu for a first timer, but staff talk you through it. Not your normal English curry house. This has far more exotic flavours and exquisite cuisine. The staff are really friendly and complimentary. Service was as quick as expected, no long delays. The environment was beautiful. Based on an Indian Market. Great selection of drinks. The Stout is worth a try as is their house IPA. A great all round experience. Definitely going back. Thank you to all the front and back of house staff for a great experience. We'll done. First rate.

Now we know why this is a popular restaurant! The ambiance is impressive and the incense adds to the brilliant atmosphere. It was Sunday morning and we were the first customers to arrive. The staff are caring and attentive especially Max! We can tell the staff are happy to work there. We went for breakfast and tried the vegan breakfast platter and granola! Both amazing!!
