Had a lovely time here. Fish and chips, pie and mash, and child’s menu gammon egg and chips. Apple crumble and custard, jam roly poly with custard, and ice cream. My favourite, the fish and chips. Great taste and texture. Cooked with care. We were looked after with care and friendliness. Thank you
Sunday lunch today. Lovely unhurried meal. Hot and tasty. Always good here. Elizabeth on front of house provides a warm and friendly welcome and is on hand to discuss the menu. The food prepared and cooked by Ruth is always excellent. Looking forward to the Tapas night in May.
This was our first visit but unlikely to be our last. We visited for Sunday lunch as a last-minute decision. We phoned ahead & were lucky to get a table as booking is recommended. I had beef brisket, which was cooked to perfection & absolute "melt in the mouth". The accompanying vegetables were fresh & delicious. There was a great choice of desserts, with the option to have a trio of smaller portions if you couldn't decide. There's a good choice of drinks, both soft drinks and alcohol. The service matched the standards set by the food, with lovely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Ate at the Alder Tree tonight for the first time, and what a great meal. Had the nachos to share for starter, this was plenty, then the steak with scampi and the mixed grill and wine, plus a couple of drinks to start with all for under £50.00. Beautiful meal well served, so couldn't fault. Will definitely be regulars in the future. Well done all the staff, you deserve it.
Booked afternoon tea for four very nice indeed couldn't fault a thing and that's rare for me. A BIG 10 out of 10. A must place to eat its got to be the best place to eat in Swinton area.

we came here for the indian night and I cannot praise this little place highly enough. The food was beautiful, they had put such an effort in but the staff are the star of the show, so welcoming and friendly. Don't hesitate to book , i've just booked in again, we love it.

Just had our first visit to The Alder Tree and it won't be our last. Excellent surroundings, food and service. A little gem in the heart of Swinton. Highly recommended.
