We visited on a Sunday and were a little disappointed to find the restaurant closed, so we ended up eating our haddock meal in the car. The haddock itself had clearly just been cooked, moist, fresh, and covered in a crisp, thin batter. Overall, it was a really nice meal, though it would have been even better enjoyed inside the restaurant.
Went for a drive around and decided to see where the nearest chippy was. This was up at the top as one of the better ones so decided to try it. For the lunch special which I believe to be about 8/9pound so for two of us it was less than 20quid. You got fish chips and a pot of choice, we went with curry. The fish was massive and a good thick piece, tasted beautiful, the chips where lovely too and the pot of curry got mopped up. Absolutely gorgeous and highly recommend. Staff very polite and friendly. Definitely pop back again
Went to Marina fish and chip restaurant in Rawmarsh yesterday for pat's birthday. The restaurant has a great menu with a good selection of sea foods to choose from. The Haddock was cooked to perfection with a nice light crispy batter while the chips were crisp on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside with the mushy peas being of a just right consistency, Pat had the Scampi which she stated was the best she had ever tasted. The portions while not being massive were definitely large enough to satisfy our appetites. The staff are nice and friendly and very attentive, while the restaurant was well decorated and spotlessly clean providing a pleasant dining experience. I would definitely recommend having a meal there.
Lovely food great price and friendly staff. I was really surprised by the decor of the restaurant surpassed my expectations. I went as part of a large group and we were all served quickly and all enjoyed the food. Hope to go again.
I work all over South Yorkshire and try many Fish & Chip shops. This place has got to be one of the best. Fish cooked to perfection with a light golden batter (You know the oil is changed regular when it looks that way) Every chip was a proper chunky chip. Staff members all friendly and polite and the place is spotless. Get a good amount of food for the price.
Nice chips but the portions are small.
Food was quite nice though portion size on the small side. Service was excellent, but the menu is somewhat limited. The decor reminded me of a set from Dynasty or Dallas, not as awful as that sounds. But my main complaint is that it was so cold! Very uncomfortable to be honest.
We had lunch everything was freshly cooked and was superb value for money. I had aunch special of fish chips and curry sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection, it was pure white & broke away on pieces when cut, the batter was crispy & light. You got plenty of chips, as it was the lunch time special for great value of £5.50, you also received a free sausage or fish cake. Chips were priced at £2.40 which I thought was also good value at the moment.
