I really do fear for the future of our fish and chips shops. Higher prices and smaller fish portions means it's not a meal we intend to get as often as we once did,if at all. The quality of the food was there, just not the quantity or value. Not the proprietors fault of course, they run a business and need to make a living.
Not the most polite staff.fish ok but nowt to get excited about. payed 7.90 for a fish butty and I politely asked for a couple of chips on it and got a harsh no unless I pay an extra £0.95p.its the little extra that goes a long way.ps the fryer looked very miserable....cheer up moody chops
1st time went here. Took dad n aunty......whom recommended this place..... 4 a fish dinner. It was absolutely lovely. The fish was so crispy n big fillet 2. Highly recommend going 2 any1. I really enjoyed dinner n dad did 2. Ty. N will call again next time he fancies a chippy lunch.
Ordered from here quite a few times but won’t be going near this place after we’ve ordered tonight. Ordered via just eat (food was put in a tied bag) to find hair in both of our meals. Rang the restaurant to be told it was probably the delivery driver (baring in mind the bag was tied shut and boxes unopened) I then drove 10 minutes to the restaurant to be spoken to by the manager who had the attitude of a child and to continually say it wasn’t them, his staff had blonde hair (when in actual fact, he had brown hair along with another girl who worked there) and there was nothing he was going to do. Not a cheap do when we spent £30. Absolutely appalled by the customer service. Avoid like the plague. Had the audacity to accuse us of planting our own hairs in the food we’d paid good money for? Not sure what sort of person would do that, baring in mind we used to order from here lots of times before the new management took over.

Great find, my new favourite fish shop. Great food, nice spot, parking can be a challenge, prices and sport on. Try the Chinese curry here, it's great.
Called with my grandaughter. She opted for chips with curry sauce which she said was delicious. I went for a scallop butty which was OK however just one scallop on such a big bread cake seemed a little stingy. I asked for another scallop to be added which did the trick.
My number one go to chippy until they tipped me over the edge. I’m a very patient person so happy to wait! But on two separate occasions I’ve googled the opening times and they’ve been shut before advertised. I imagine this is due to running out of fish? I arrived tonight at 18:53 when advertised to close at 20:00. Stock more fish maybe? I’m not happy to drive somewhere and waste petrol for it to be closed. Prices have gone up when quality has unfortunately gone down. Anyway we went down the road to the trawler and found it much cheaper and quality much better.
What an absolute shame, this fish and chips shop used to be excellent with great tasting fish and chips, we went today and ordered at the door at 11.50, we then had to wait outside in 1°c and snowing, 30 mins later we were given our food, yes that's right 30 minutes, how the hell does it take 30 mins to cook fish and chips ? Not to mention we were first in line, and then the final kick in the teeth was when I opened them, undercooked chips, flat fish and one of the fish was smaller than the t-cake, oh and maybe the owner should give the shop staff training in manners, after telling the lass at the window that we'd been waiting 30 mins she replied with a yeah and closed the window, shame!!!
