I came for Sunday roast meal and enjoyed the food alot however we didn't come particularly late, I ordered the trio of roast however they had run out of 1 item so I doubled up on pork. My partner wanted to order a pie and of the 2 on the menu they didn't have either which was disappointing but they must be good pies. In the end she ordered a roast too however asked for no potatoes and mash instead but the meal came with roast potatoes and no mash, only upon asking. Sadly the service was the only let down to what was very tasty food

Had a lovely lunch with a friend Dorne today 30th October. I had steak sandwich and salad. Steak cooked lovely Medium Rare very tasty and lots of steak for a change. Ellen our waitress was spot on very pleasant offered us different menus and checked back on food. Returned with pudding menu after our plates had been cleared. We were also entertained with a lady called Beryl she came in with family and was dressed up for Halloween made our day.

We booked the Mossbrook for an evening meal on our wedding anniversary. When we arrived (on time) it took a little while for us to be taken to our seat. The atmosphere was quite relaxed with a mix of family and adult only tables. The decor is light and vibrant, we did not use the facilities during our visit. We were able to take advantage of the 2 for (reduced price) mocktails - ordering a elderflower sherbet and a colado breeze. Both were well presented and very tasty. We each had 3 courses, sharing a baked camembert with toasted bread and chilli jam for starter. For our mains my wife had the seafood linguini and I had the roast half-chicken with a side of green veg. The final course was the chocolate bomb for myself and decaf tea and mini-crumble for my wife. All the food was well made, decent portions and of a quality expected for the price. My only disappointment was the chocolate pudding sauce was clearly not hot enough to melt the chocolate 'shell'. Whilst the staff were all friendly and able to answer any questions service was quite slow with the 3rd course only being served about 2 hours after initial booking time.

Me and my son booked a table for Sunday lunch (as a super rare treat!), we spent a lovely afternoon working up an appetite walking the dog in Eckington woods - so when we arrived in our outdoor gear we felt a little out of place. I was disappointed that when we arrived and I explained I had booked a table the manager just pointed to a free table and didn’t even give us a menu. My son had to go and find us one, despite everyone else being warmly greeted and shown to their table with menus. Anyways, it was busy and the staff seemed quite stressed. We went ahead and ordered at the bar. I had the chicken roast and my not-so-little 11 year old ordered the dirty burger. He said it was the best burger he’s ever had! 10 out 10, and the kid has had a lot of burgers in his time! The roast was tasty, but I was a bit disappointed in the roasties because they looked amaaazing but were clearly old & tasted like they had been reheated in the microwave. They looked like such good roasties too, but the crisp was no longer crisp and more chewy like what you get when you’ve fridged and reheated a roastie. I wouldn’t mind but for the price of the roast I expected they would have been fresh on the day. Other than that, it was lovely! Yorkshire was super tasty! I would have mentioned this to a member of staff but after being served our food nobody came back to check on us anyways. Would definitely come back to try a burger myself as my son polished the whole plate!

Another visit to Mossbrook, when we arrived their was no one to greet us, but eventually a lady showed us to our table, this person didn't seem too happy just stressed. She gave me an iPad because I'm gluten intolerant and I really couldn't understand it but then a waiter called Steve approached us and he was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and he went out of his way for me. The food was lovely and I really enjoyed it, we will be returning.

Had a meal today, fantastic. The burger was absolutely delicious. Staff were impeccable and service was great. Slightly more expensive than basic pub grub but worth every penny.

Gorgeous country pub which I was lucky to find thanks to the recommendation of my air bnb host. Cosy atmosphere with bar area next to an open fire, perfect to warm up on a winters day. The food is just as good! With great options available and cooked to perfection. I enjoyed it so much I ate here twice in a short midweek break. They also know how to make a good cocktail! Everything mixed to perfection. Would have been good to see a 2 for x deal on these though as it does get pricey full price.
