Just got back from Papas Crystal Peaks, the food was very very nice, excellent service from the young lady Kelly. She was very polite, friendly, passionate about her job. The meal was for my daughters last day at school she loves fish and chips and was eager to go to papas for her tea. Kelly asked if we would like a family photo which she took for us. Over all the experience was very good would definitely recommend.

Been to Papa’s a couple times in the past month and its been fantastic each time. Food is great value, portion sizes are generous and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you are having an enjoyable experience. There’s a lot of chippys around Sheffield but Papa’s is levels above them all - the curry sauce alone is worth making a special trip for!

So we’re new to the area and first tried this place a few weeks ago when they’d just opened with a flash offer of just £1 for a takeout Fish&Chips. It was soooo busy (who can say no to £1 Fish&Chips) but the queues didn’t affect the quality of the food. I’m so fussy with fish but it wasn’t soggy or dripping in fat. They had a good variety of traditional items and reasonably priced deals for families etc on their normal menu. We found out there was the takeout section (where we were) but also a bigger sit down restaurant next door. This is what we decided to try last week. I’d reserved a table but when we arrived it was quiet… Staff were lovely and the fish again was spot on! This is now my ‘go to’ place for Fish&Chips. They also had other options like burgers available but mainly it’s all about the fish! The decor was lovely with booths inside and a full bar which looked snazzy as soon as you walked in. After speaking to people about this place apparently it’s been open previously several times with different owners (where it was pretty shabby) and maybe this is why no one’s really hyping about this place yet… I don’t know what it used to be like but this place as it is now — super good! People just need to start recognising it.

Takeaway option. Fish beautiful and white Cod with a nice thin batter. Chips lovely the only thing that let it down was the curry sauce. Was more like Chinese curry than traditional fish and chip curry. Overall really good and was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night. I hope it doesn’t close.

The fish and chips here are amazing!! I love how they have a senior option where you get fish, chips, and a dessert for £10. Every time I've dined here, there have been very few people, if any, so I hope it gains popularity so more people can enjoy their amazing food. Would definitely recommend for a nice treat for tea.

Our 1st time visit to Papa's and I wasn't disappointed. If I could give superstars I definitely would. It was a little busy for walk in but that's to be expected, the restaurant was full!! We only had to wait about 5-10mins. We were welcomed by both Darren and Bailey (very welcoming young men). Was seated at a lovely clean table by Darren. I ordered a medium chip shop platter with the parsley fishcake, 1 children's fish and chips and children's sausage and chips with gravy. Katie brought our food out to us (lovely to see service with a radiant smile) and OH MY GOD is all I could say when the food arrived. All portions are HUGE. And every bite was absolutely delicious, no fault at all. I had to admit defeat as I could only eat half, the portions were that BIG. My son who ordered the children's fish and chips ate all of his and said it was the best ever. I had a lovely chat with Jonathan (manager) All the staff here are lovely, friendly with very welcoming smiles. We will definitely be coming back again very soon.

Went for lunch with hubby and was shown too table straight away , Jonathan told us how too order and left us too decide . We ordered food 1.38pm as on receipt of £29.80 for 2x haddock n chips . 1 x mushy peas . 1 x bread n butter 1 pint of Peroni and a Pepsi. The food arrived 2.09pm and was warm , tasted ok and was enjoyable , not as good as other papas but …. Ok The staff seem too be floundering , and a lot of faffing about … the place itself is grubby in places and needs addressing as only been open a month or so . Food on seats and floors , the balustrade glass filthy .. also the large windows are cleaned like portholes and the finger marks are yuk Sorry too be picky but it’s not the papas standard as in other of their restaurants and seems too be failing early Also my last comment waitress trying too carry 3 plates , 1 in each hand and the other balanced on her arm but tucked under her shirt/breast not very hygienic , but was comical too see , I’m glad there was only 2 plates coming too our table Couple next too us got fed up of waiting for their desserts and left

Believe the hype, fresh food, good sized prtions great staff. it is one of the best fish and chips I have eaten. I also had the battered Haloumi and the Calamari. Both were great with the squid being soft like a prawn. I had plaice and chips and it was crisp and cooked perfectly opaque. Staff were really friendly, we even had a joke with one of the staff telling the rest I was a health inspector. Was a great experience. 12/10 keep it up and don't let it slip. Looks like we will be regulars. First picture is the gluten free option, the Halloumi was battered gf too. Really good gf options. Some teething problems, but that because it has just opened, so I would imagine they are training new staff on new equipment, it takes a bit of time to get it all right.

Never disappointed. Went to the Takeaway opening in Sheffield yesterday and it was queues all day for the 1p opening fish and chips offer. I don’t know how the staff kept going but they did and even kept serving past the time they were doing the offer till so as not to disappoint people. Was clean and inviting. Very friendly and very helpful to everyone. Welcome to Sheffield papas and look forward to visiting the restaurant soon.
