   Irregularly timed meals here down the years have all been of a high standard, and at a reasonable price when many others have greatly increased prices recently. Always a good welcome and my lady eats regularly a meal not on the menu, but never any problem in supplying what is usually a side as her main. Staying locally, don't go into town, stop here and have a good evening.

   Fantastic food, highly recommended. Had the pakora platter and cheesy chicken to start with. Loved the Staff Curry with Jorvik special rice. Tikka masala and madras were also both excellent. Great value and excellent service

   Traveling for work I have been to several restaurants around York, as my profile shall show. I can say hands down this restaurant is the best I’ve been to. I’m of Bengali ethnicity and the waiters are so keen to talk Bengali with me. Usually the problem with curry houses like these is there’s always too much oil in the dish. The first night I ordered Nawabi Khanna, which was sublime. The reason I rate the restaurant a 4/5 is the oil content prevented me from having a good quality sleep. I returned there a few days later and the waiter recognized me. I’ve been following the waiter’s recommendations for what to eat as I always order the same dish. I had the chicken and mince dish, the staff curry and then the Naga lamb curry. All fantastic choices, I highly recommend them. Do not be afraid to request less oil in your dish as this makes the taste even better. The waiters will be fine with this! If you go to York, please go to this restaurant.

   Opposite the Ibis where I stayed this was just right for eating on my own. Great choice of dishes, good service and excellent value. What I appreciated was not being rushed, decent portion sizes and finishing the meal comfortably without feeling over-full. The flavour of my chicken rezella dish was spot on.

   Loved this restaurant. Gorgeous food, attentive staff made us feel at home. Food not over spicy like some can be - medium curries we had were quite gentle, allowing us to appreciate more of the complex flavours. Would happily come again, and definitely recommend.

   Good was amazing, very tasty would definitely recommend. The restaurant just lacked atmosphere as we were the only people in at the time. The speaker phone for takeaways shouting you have a new order every minute is a bit monotonous.
