First time coming here and disappointing food quality, this wasn't cheap either. I will not be returning. very soggy fish, Batter of fish was mostly stuck to the wrapping, chips were very dry and didn't taste great most ended up in the bin. Was hoping for better as this is near me.
Bought fishcakes and peas. Walked home quickly around 100 metres and served them. The peas were virtually cold. Obviously not heated and checked before serving to customers. The fishcakes were barely warm and soggy. I assume they had been cooked a while and stood. Also expensive. Much better and cheaper fish shops around. Not good at all and wont be going back.
Had a fish special from here and i thought it was expensive compared to other local chippys, the food itself wasn't to bad but wouldn't go back just because of the price, and that i don't think it's worth it
Have been going to this place for about 15 years used to go 2 or 3 times a week. Over the last 2 years I have gone less, probably 2 times a month. Went today paid £9.40 for kebab meat and chips the kebab container was half full, I asked is that right, she called someone over who said we only fill one side. So now the containers are smaller and they say that's what we do. Sorry ocean I won't be back. Hope you do well though as the owner with the relative in Doncaster is nice
Really disappointed with the quality of the food for the price we paid. We ordered a kids cod bite meal and a cod bite all day special that cost £8.30. The chips were very dry and the cod bite was very small and quite greasy. We haven't been here for a while as there is a chippy in High Green we normally use (The Circle) which is a lot cheaper and a lot better. As we were passing by and walking, I thought I'd give them one last try. Unfortunately I won't be returning back. The lady that works there in her 60s is lovely though and offers great customer service.
The haddock is always fried to order, so fresh and very tasty!! It is the best place I have visited because of the quality of the haddock. That is why it is my 'go to' for a haddock and small chips treat!!
Very over priced. Not very nice chips. Tasted like they were reheated from the day before. Fish had soggy batter and fish too dry.
Would be better if they'd remove the plastic screens at the tills and start to engage with customers again. Staff could be more welcoming and conversive towards customers. Portion of chips depends on who serves you, so, no consistency here and for what you pay for a large portion you get home to find hardly any chips for the family!!!! Come on Ocean give us more chips!!!
Very nice lovely white fish chips ok but odd times not nice chips lovely crispy batter not cheap but you get what you pay for
The fish is always 1st class and the chips are excellent and plentiful, there is a car park at the rear and the shop is super clean and modern. The staff are very helpful and friendly and it would be difficult to find a fault with the place in any way. I call here regularly because the whole experience is worthy of returning.
