Consistently the best fish and chips in Chapeltown, cooked fresh to a delicious golden brown, nothing can compete with the sheer brilliance of this chippy. Mushy pea fritters are a revelation. Didn’t get to take a picture as I nailed it all super quick. Oh and I’ve not mentioned how lovely everyone is in there. Keep you the good work you absolute heroes. Also great value. It’s got it all folks.

We lived in chapel town for many years and Arundel used to be the best chippy around, a few months ago we were in the area and went there for fish and chips, the meal was a disappointment and nowhere near as good as it used to be. Tonight we were once again in the area and decided to give them another try, wish we’d saved our money, the fish was ok but the chips were uneatable , very strange texture and tasteless, I know the cost of everything is going up but I’d rather spend a bit more money and not waste the money spent by putting most of the meal in the bin.

Popped down to this chippy to see what it's like - looks like Chapeltown has another gorgeous chippy in town! Pictures on here are accurate - the batter is brown and nice, chips are dark but taste nicely cooked (not burnt). We're usually hard to please but the battered sausage, chips, peas and curry was all nice and happily have again. I underestimated how large the large chips would be though so ordered 2, but 1 is absolutely enough for 2 people A few of reasons for the star deduction: 1. I was charged 20p for a bag, but I thought that charge from businesses is usually for a plastic bag but the one I received was a paper bag. I'd rather receive a paper bag anyway but yeah, was just a bit surprised. Obviously businesses can charge what they want and 20p is not going to stop me going again! 2. Regarding the bag again, but I thought the ladies might have packed the items for me rather than me doing it. Just a bit of additional service which is always provided at any other chippy I've been to 3. Unfortunately they had ran out of breadcakes. Obviously stock can fluctuate but I felt like I went early in the evening enough to still have them though Anyway, hopefully the star deduction isn't too harsh but we definitely will be coming back and would recommend it to others

Great food, fish covered in good old fashioned crispy batter, cooked all way through, yet juicy white fish, always ask for fish bits, golden chips made from potatoes peeled and chipped on the premises, not supplied as raw frozen chips. I drive past half a dozen chippies to get the food I like from here. My pet hate is pale yellow soggy batter - not at this place!
