When entering the Blue Stoops, the pub was very inviting. Although there was no one behind the bar initially, so I waited slightly longer than I wanted to, but when I ordered. My cocktail arrived promptly β it was delicious and well made. The atmosphere was lovely, and the bar area was a great space to chat and socialise. When we were ready to move to our table, I asked where it was located and we headed over shortly after finishing our drinks. Our server was friendly and welcoming; she provided menus and explained how the dining experience would work. We ordered drinks with her, however there was a longer-than-expected wait for them to arrive at the table. We did have to follow this up, particularly as another guest had joined our party and we were placing an additional order. The initial drinks eventually arrived. Our starters were ordered and arrived within a good timeframe. They were delicious and, as described by the server, generous enough for four of us to share. After this, we ordered more drinks. I requested the same cocktail I had earlier, but this time it tasted noticeably different and seemed to have little to no alcohol. I asked the server to check, and a replacement was made. Unfortunately, this also tasted different, though slightly improved. Following this, our starter plates remained on the table for some time and no one checked in with us after the drink issue. When our mains began to arrive, there was limited space due to the uncleared plates, so the food runner had to clear them at that point. We were still waiting for one of the mains, and I had to ask for cutlery as we had none for our meals. Some starter dishes remained on the table, and although knives were brought out, the forks were missing. The runner left to find them, leaving us with meals going cold and two mains still outstanding. The forks eventually arrived along with the third main. A few minutes later, my onion rings were delivered, but my pizza was still missing. I began eating the onion rings and encouraged the rest of the table to start their meals. After around five minutes, we asked for an update. Initially, the staff member said she had checked but would look again. When she returned β almost ten minutes later β she explained that there had been a mistake: three pizzas were ordered but only two had been made, and mine was just being prepared. I advised that if the pizza did not arrive within the next few minutes, it could be cancelled, as the rest of the table had already finished eating and I had eaten my sides. The pizza did arrive within those 2 minutes and initially looked great, and I was informed it would be comped for my wait and experience. However, when I cut into it, the pizza was cold and had a slimy texture, as though it was undercooked. I only ate some of the crust and left most of it, as it was not appetising. I did inform a member of staff when our table was cleared, and a drink was comped, which I appreciated. However, this missed the point β I would have much preferred to have received an enjoyable, properly cooked meal rather than compensation.

Came for dinner with family for a birthday. Service was brilliant, moved the tables so we could all sit together and the food was even better. The pizzaβs are massive and taste fresh. The chips were faultless. Overall I would definitely recommend.

We had a super night in the Blue Stoops. The food and service was amazing! A big shout out to Casey who was our server for the night. She was very friendly, efficient and her attention to detail was great! The only downside was when we came to pay. We scanned the QR code and I was able to check the bill before I paid but we had previously paid a Β£60 deposit which wasn't taken off the bill. However, this was dealt with promptly. Then, I realised that I hadn't been given a receipt which I needed to work out the bill. I couldn't ring up to check as there is no telephone number so I completed a form on line then ended up getting 3 emails suggesting I check my account on the app, but I didn't have an account. The customer service person then asked me to provide information regarding dates, times, what food we had, my name etc. Still not sorted!

10/10 Absolutely fantastic food! My husband said it was the best burger heβs ever eaten, and I couldnβt agree moreβthe quality of the meat was outstanding in both the burger and the steak I had. I also tried a cherry cocktail which was lovely and sweet. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Weβll definitely be back!

This was my 1st visit here on a Saturday night for a family birthday meal .First impressions of this Country style stone brick pub looked good from the outside,Through the entrance door its a bar area to the left, restaurant seating to the right, the decor was dark with its traditional style wooden beams & panels . I found the atmosphere to be very noisy as it was very very busy as every inch of floor space in different areas had been taken up by mostly large tables. Our allocated table for 10 was actually 5 small tables with large bases pushed together & these moved when you had to shuffle your feet & bum along the seating bench as only had access from 1 end .The light levels were so poor.i used my mobile phone tourch to view the menu, another table did the same . Once the drinks order had been placed the table drink service was slow in dribs n drabs with 5 drinks coming 1st then having to request the where abouts of the other drinks ,When placing the food orders I was told my choice of the Big Yakitori sweet chilli chicken was sold out & opted for jerk chicken instead. Later on after some of the group had finished their starters ,the waitress returned & informed me my jerk chicken was now also sold out ,i could have something else on her( i thought she was joking) ,,so opted for fish n chips this time maybe ,third time lucky ! .The waitress staff on duty were very pleasant but what ever ordering system they are using on their fancy ipads, just isn't working as the place was far too busy for them to cope(management needs to review this situation).Once the main meals came out there was further mix ups with the orders, infact someone else actually got my jerk chicken meal order & someone else had got his ,oh dear this wasn't the great celebration night out it was supposed to be .The fish & chips I had was ok but nothing special for the price as I was starving as it was nearly 2hours since we arrived. My meal along with my Classic Mojito drink i had was actually taken off the bill as goodwill gesture. Payments here are card only I was informed by the females in the group theres not enough ladies loos either .I can't say myself if the pub is always this busy at the weekends but it wasn't a very enjoyable experience & for the distance I travelled ,I won't be returning back ,Price wise Its an expensive menu.
