   The pub has had a massive makeover and looks great. Its marred by the rude bar woman, clearly not from Barnsley aa she doesn't understand what a warm welcome is. The younger girl on the bar was great tho. One of my friends ordered a rosé wine when we tried to order another one the older foreign bar women said ' No, don't have' we explained we'd just ordered one but she walked off! The other girl got it out of the front of the cooler. The other woman saw this but when we asked for another later on she still said they didn't have any! She was very sharp when we asked if we could have have food at the high tables too. A simple, sorry, we dont serve food in here would have sufficed. She could have offered us a table in the dining part but didnt do that either. She did agree to ket us have chips. They were more like sliced potatoes & a bit undercooked. No customer service skills whatsoever. If you don't like people don't work in hospitality.

   Just been here for a meal with a friend and the food was absolutely delicious. Lovely fresh ingredients, enjoyed every bit. Had a delicious dessert of apple pie then finished with coffee and Bailey's. The staff are lovely and friendly, the new owner even came and sat with us for a while. Cannot fault at all, and will definitely be going back soon.

   Food was ok but doesn't fit the price which was too expensive for the quality. It's charming with mismatched tables and chairs but they could fix the broken chairs and mend the ripped lining, leather chairs are so old they are severely cracked which can look charming if it didn't look like it was neglected vs left like that for looks. I liked how some tables were sewing machine tables. Utensils weren't the cleanest and neither were the decor and walls, it needs more dusting and for the old peices to look like they were left like this for the charm of it and not because they can't afford to upkeep it. In general I wouldn't go back and won't recommend. Maybe a one time visit is fine.

   Delicious fresh food! Half of our party had the Sunday dinner which they enjoyed. I had the seafood risotto pictured below. It was absolutely amazing! Hats off to the chef and the staff were very friendly! Will definitely be going again!

   We ate here following a recommendation from family. I booked a table in advance. It was quite busy when we arrived. We were shown to our table immediately. The tables are quite close together and it was quite noisey. It was difficult not to over hear what was being discussed on other tables. We were given the menu but we were not told about the specials board (We found out about the specials after we had eaten). We ordered mixed grill and chicken Caesar flat bread, both meals were beautiful. Large portions. My husband couldn't finish the meat on his mixed grill so we asked for doggy bag for our little dog but unfortunately the waiter told us on our departure that the food had been thrown away. Sorry dog no meat treat for you tonight.

   I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this place! The food was tasty, of a high quality, and expertly presented. Staff were extremely friendly and attentative too. It's a little more pricey than competitors in the area, but would certainly recommend you give it a try.
