We came for Christmas Day dinner. Truly grateful for all the staff working that day. We went in and was seated right near the main entrance door, which was a bit cold as people were coming and going. My hubby was placed on the seat closest to the door and back to the bar where people were passing all the time. We had 3 courses. First course that starter was prawn cocktail. This was lovely but could have been less lettuce. Main meal was value for money, lots of food and everything was cooked lovelyβ¦.except the broccoli, which was very under done unfortunately. But we enjoyed everything else. Desert was very nice. My hubby had brownie and I had the berry crumble. Oh my gosh was that nice! To say it was very busy, that staff did a marvellous job.

We enjoyed a festive set menu at the Eight Foot Way today and had an amazing experience. The venue was super Christmassy and really put us in the festive spirit. We had to make a few changes to our booking on the day and the staff were so accommodating, we canβt thank them enough, especially Jade for being very understanding and helpful. The menu had great choices for everyone and the pre-ordering system was very easy to use. We all loved our choices including our toddler who had an amazing time and ate plenty! A big thank you to Nat, Ashton, Ewan and Ben who made us all feel so welcome and always went the extra mile to make our Christmas meal special. Weβre really lucky to call this pub our local and will come back for the festive menu every year. Thank you, again!

No greet facility, so we had to wait at a busy bar to be shown our table. The initial food and drink ordering experience was very disjointed, my daughter had to go and order her meal at the bar because the option she wanted was not available. I ordered the mixed grill. Most of the meat on the plate was dry and the medium rare steak was well done when cut into. The button mushrooms were chopped into tiny pieces?? My daughter had fish and chips, and left around 1/3 of the fish because it was very dry. Her beans had quite obviously been microwaved on her plate, or had been on a hot plate for some time. My plate was too hot to touch, which would possibly explain why all the meat was dry? Not the best meal we have had, but I am not the type to cause a scene in a restaurant, so let it go. The reserved table had no cutlery or salt and pepper on it when we were seated, and it looked like children had been playing with the menus, as they were scattered around. I'm not after any recompense. I just want the company to know where they can improve the diner experience for others. I cannot see us returning anytime soon.

The food is very nice and is taken and served out quickly. I had the Hunters Chicken Fried, which was Β£12.79 and it was good, but you can order normal Hunters Chicken, which is roasted instead of fried, and that it Β£11.79. Also, at 6 pm, they ran a pub quiz, which I took part in and sadly lost, but top prises can consist of money and gift cards. The quiz has 4 rounds, which can be on topics like TV shows and other general topics. Would definitely come again.

I love the atmosphere here... my favourite person is Ben. Usually the food it perfect. Today however I can only conclude its either a trainee chef in the kitchen or the usual chef is having a really bad hair day, oil was probably way to hot and old oil...which could be tasted in the food. Starters of Crumbed Mushrooms with garlic mayo... had to ask for the garlic mayo..no schwet, minor issue, the shrooms however were rock hard...I did not know you could turn a shroom into a stone...apparently today's chef knows just how, the fork wouldn't even penetrate the crumbed shrooms which bounced off my plate. The crumbed chicken strips crumbs were equally hard. Inside was dry and hard and tasteless. They are usually juicy and you are nit at risk of busting a tooth. Steak and Ale Pie saved the day.. the pastry was divine, contents were succulent with a nice thick gravy. The peas and accompanying chips however were awful...definitely heated up in the microwave... The onion rings should not have been plated and sent out, very evident they were cooked in old oil. Overcooked and ice cold. Cowboy burger was perfect, accompanying chips were ice cold and rock hard. Chef was definitely not on top form today.
