   Absolutely delicious! Proud Potato in Hillsborough makes one of the best jacket potatoes I’ve ever had. The skin is perfectly crispy, and they give a generous amount of toppings — just the right balance of flavours. Everything tastes fresh and comforting. Friendly service too! Definitely worth a visit if you love a proper jacket potato done right.

   The food here used to be superb when the original owner had it. It has swapped hands a few times since then and the food quality isn't what it was. The 3 things of note: The white cheese used to be really strong and fine, it is now factory grated flavourless cheese. The chilli used to be really spicy and really high quality, it is now not spicy [that makes it bolognaise-get some chill whacked in!] and get back to using the better mince. They used to spend a while mashing the butter into the potato which isn't done any more. It is these little attention to detail that set is apart and mad the price tag worth paying. It is a shame as we used to go 2-3 times a month, but unless some changes are made I don't think we will be using it much any more.

   Normally excellent but not sure for some reason the toppings was very stingy this lunchtime. Normally more generous servings, will give the benefit of the doubt this time as normal lady not serving today so maybe just a one off ?

   I have been coming to the Proud Potato for years and always been very happy. The portion sizes have now decreased massively. I have been disappointed! New staff should be more generous with potato size and portions sizes if they want to keep custom. Thanks Mandy

   After reading the previous 1* reviews I thought I was about to make a huge mistake suggesting Proud Potato as a quick tea but am pleased to say they are very misleading. I bought 3 large spuds, two cheese and chilli and one tuna mayo and cheese, all the spuds were large and cooked to perfection, fluffy moist potato inside and crispy well cooked skins on the outside. There was ample filling in all 3 and no complaints from my family. Will definitely go back again. Worth the £5

   I have been going to the Proud potato for Decades now they have always had great service and simply amazing potatoes and toppings. However over the last year the staff are not as chatty as they used to be! I'm guessing that's due to the pandemic and as it's one in one out service to minimize spread.
