I’m not sure if I’m reviewing the right restaurant, but couldn’t find any others on google maps (use pictures attached to identify). Prices are extortionate for relatively average food and drink. Menu selection is quite poor for meals, atmosphere is comparable to a school canteen. Ended up getting soup, which was ok, and an endless amount of brown bread croutons, with one bread roll. Others had sandwiches and baguettes and were slightly disappointed and so food was left. Went back later for cake and drinks which was a better experience but prices were still very high. Overall alright but probably better at the other food places, however cannot comment as didn’t go elsewhere.

Celebrated my birthday and 13th wedding anniversary and we could not have picked a better place for a double celebration. The sandwiches were delicious, the cakes and scones were amazing, presented on beautiful china along with lots of different teas, which the waitress bought us along to try. Lovely experience and a big thankyou to Hazel who looked after us and we felt very special in a beautiful ambiance. Thankyou Lynne and Martyn x

After a lovely day at Chatsworth, we decided to try to see if we could come back the next day for afternoon tea. I checked online and it showed no availability, but when we popped in and asked, they were friendly and accommodating and set up a reservation for us. It was everything we hoped for and more. The staff was wonderfully pleasant and made us feel so comfortable, the food was delicious, and the tea was fantastic! We loved it immensely, and will be sure to make The Flying Childers and Chatsworth a part of our itinerary the next time we fly back across the "pond".

We had afternoon tea here today. The whole experience was an utter delight from the quality of the welcome , service, ambiance and delicious new menu. Our hostess Petra was so kind. Thank you to everyone at the Flying Childers for giving 3 generations of women celebrating mothers and a birthday , such a happy day never to be forgotten.

Afternoon Tea at the Flying Childers restaurant, which was a late birthday present for my wife, from her cousins. From start to end everything was just perfect, attentive staff & the 4 course afternoon tea was one of the best Ive had by far. There is vast tea selection to choose!

Absolutely beautiful afternoon tea today for my mum's birthday. They looked after my mum's presents as we were looking around the gardens first. My mum had a problem with her Satnav and was worried about getting home, and they very happily agreed to charge it for her while we dined! Will, our waiter, was so polite, attentive and witty - it made the experience so much more personal. They even brought out an extra cake with 'Happy birthday' written in chocolate on the serving dish - a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend afternoon tea here - all of the food was delicious and my daughter loved her children's version!
