We go here regularly for the carvery. Today we took a friend for Christmas.lunch. How disappointing was the carvery. Had to ring for service. String was left on the ham. Yorkshire pudds, small, not home made. Most of the veg, just warm. Waitress service very rushed. Nobody asked if our meal was okay. The whole lunch was a "get you in, fed". "Get you out". Not impressed, at all. A Christmas let down. Don't go. Don't waste your money.

Went on Saturday. Carvery very good. Burger took along time to come... Asked for a plate for my grand child off 7 month so I could mash him a small amount off veg and you want to charge me a Β£1 I found this absolutely ridiculous. I also refused to pay then was given a plastic bowl....

Fantastic service from Cara! I visited the Morlands Carvery at Baslow recently and was really impressed by the warm, friendly service from Cara. She was so welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. genuine smile throughout. Itβs always nice to be served by someone who clearly enjoys what they do. Thanks, Cara, for making our visit extra special! Weβll definitely be back. You was hilarious !!!

Went to with the carvery and burger for dinner. First the service was quick lacking, there wasnβt much of it. Second the food - the carvery meat is quite good, but the vegetables are disappointing. They are basically boiled frozen vegetables. The roast potatoes and cauliflower was better. The burger was below a her age in terms of taste and the fries that came with, frozen fries again. I was hoping for good quality veggies, fries to go with the carvery and burger so a let down on that front.

A very warm welcome to The Moorlands, which has pleasant dΓ©cor. After being seated we placed chose our food from the menu, and ordered at the bar where Lawrence who was serving had a lovely smile and demeanour. The food ordered was served quite quickly, and the carvery was collected at the deck. There was a great chef named Dave, who was cheery and polite. He served from a variety of meats, and then one chooses their of veg from a well supplied and variety. The tables are set out giving one adequate space around. Attentive servers came to check all was as one would expect and provided any extra sauces etc as requested. They cleared the tables when necessary. The desserts were too nice to miss out on but which one to choose? The Stonehouse is very popular and you can tell why when you visit and dine there.

Amazing food for the price! All 7 of us had 3 courses and it worked out so cheap including a Carvery. The Carvery options were great and it tasted amazing in comparison to other Carvery restaurants. Will definitely be coming back just for the price but also the view

Nine of us called for a family meal. The three children wanted pizza which they did tell us would take about 25 min so we waited before the adults went for the carvery. The pizzas didn't come for 50 mins so the kids were getting very fed up sat watching us eat and we had eaten our meals before theirs even came. We ended up having to clear our own table (no.9) ready for desserts as nobody came to clear yet there was a table of staff near us just sat watching us do it. You are going to have to up your game Moorlands because its put us off visiting again and we were quite frequent customers. On the plus side the food we had was very nice, pizzas just took too long, not enough staff.
