Let me paint the picture. I walked into Happy House out of pure circumstance. Normally I hit my usual spot, but hunger hit like a heavyweight punch, and this place was the closest. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Roll the dice, right? Well guess what, I hit the flavor jackpot. First up, crispy chilli shredded beef. My taste buds strapped in and went straight to Flavortown. Perfect crunch, none of that sad, chewy mess you sometimes get when someone doesn’t know what they’re doing. The heat? Smooth. Not aggressive. Like the chef whispered to the chilli, “Relax, buddy, we’re making art.” Soft noodles? Oh man. Silky, spring onions dancing through like a supporting cast. Balanced, not greasy, just right. And that curry sauce? A chip shop classic but with an extra twist that said, “Surprise, fool!” without going overboard. Now the salt and pepper chicken. Listen, the portion size was ridiculous. Big enough my Mrs looked at it and said “Bruh, who’s eating all this?!” Flavor was tight, not too salty, not too peppery, and then out of nowhere—bam, a little chilli cameo. These chefs clearly love their spice, and more importantly, they know how to use it. That wok didn’t just cook, it wokked. Service? Smooth as butter. I asked for extras, expecting the usual “that’ll cost you.” Nope. The guy just smiled and said, “No problem.” That’s how you win loyal customers. Only snag? Cash only. Managed to dig out some notes, paid up, and left with a grin. Overall, bold flavors, huge portions, friendly service, and a chef treating the wok like a rock star treats a guitar. Walked in on a gamble, walked out with a win.

The food is really good and super affordable. The staff/owners are very hard working. There may be a little wait because they cook your food to order. I really can't fault this place. We are looking forward to eating there again.

I've been maybe 50 times. Reviewing because it's NOT 5 stars. Its ok! The prices aren't bad and the lunch specials are great value. (Lunch Salt n pepper chicken n chips pictured). But the Chinese mains are just alright and the fish has never been good. The chips vary from not bad to, yeah, alright. Prawn crackers r good though

Best fish and chips and I've had in a long time. My grandchildren recommended this place to me when they wanted some chips so we went. I will definitely be back again, the staff are lovely and friendly, portion sizes are huge (maybe too big) and prices are around the average for the area. The shop is lovely and clean and we had service with a smile
