Tried this chippy for the first time and can only say outstanding proper fish and chips plus you had great staff serving you . Just make sure you are hungry as portions are large . Was a bit like stepping back in time when chippys were chippys. Five stars from me best in Sheffield are .
1st visit on a Friday evening, pretty busy which was a good sign! Fish was huge, great value compared to others at £6 for large. Really great fish n chips, definitely recommend. Not a 5 star as dont deliver.
Fourth time I have been to Shelley’s now and the food is always spot on. Freshly made to order, crispy batter and fish not dry in the slightest. Staff really friendly - wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Popped in last night and was served by a lovely young lady food was 10/10 and the service was fantastic. I came in for a little treat for the family and this young lady really went out of her way to make us all smile very welcoming environment so I will definitely be a returning customer. Also love the new Halloween decorations.
Super friendly staff. The best chippy in stocksbridge by an absolute mile. Generous portions. Would highly recommend!
Yesterday's food....at tomorrow's prices....today. Don't go 10 minutes after they open or you'll get yesterday's fish. There's no way it was freshly cooked prior to opening, I went 5-10 minutes after it opened. The fish was very dry and chewy and stale, it tasted like I bought it 2 days prior then heated it up again, worse fish I've had from a chip shop and the chips were equally stale and chewy. Oh, and the price? £4.60 for the fish and £2.00 for small chips? Had i wandered into an airport food court? Awful.
The best local chippy by far! Fish and chips are always lovley, never had a complaint! Staff are really friendly. You know a good chippy when there are queues outside!! 9 times out of 19 theres a queue outside for shellys!!
If you like beef dripping they're probably fine, I didn't realise that until I'd paid and put them in my bag though, my fault I know. That said there was absolutely nothing ready on the hot counter.
We live very close by and tend to come here most Wednesday nights now as a tradition. Since this year, the service had become much more friendly which used to be an issue last year where I got quite an uncharismatic treatment, but alas this hath improved and I can certainly say the food here is of TOP QUALITY. Baie lekker!
Usually good fish, chips average, however, I went on a Thursday teatime and got the greasiest, greyest looking chips I've ever seen, disgusting. Obviously reheated from earlier in the day. None of it was freshly cooked and cost me £23. Won't be going again.
