I went here last night wow the pizza night was amazing best I've had in UK staff worked so hard food was second to none
Went on a Sunday for a roast. Mashed potato was very lumpy. Roast potatoes were hard in the middle, hardly 'roasted' and definitely not crispy. They seemed like they had been bought frozen and cooked (not saying they were, but they didn't taste fresh). Advert states giant Yorkshire pudding but it was just a normal standard sized one that also looked like a frozen one. I had the galmon which was lovely- very soft and tasty. Sticky toffee pudding with ice-cream was lovely- would definitely recommend that. Wouldn't have the Sunday roast again as was very disappointed. Not sure if it was a fluke as I heard it's usually good. That being said it hasn't put me off going back to try the normal menu. The Pub seems clean and the service quick.
Arrived on a Sunday. Restaurant area quiet enough and managed to get a table no problem. Sundays are carvery only with options being S, M or Large. Choices of the usual meats or some of all three. No vegetarian meat alternatives but possible to have the full Sunday dinner minus the meat. Vegetarian gravy was made upon request. Food was poor. The mash was tasty, but it hadn't been mashed, quite a large number of potatoe chunks. The vegetables were extremely overdone to the point the brocoli was a washed-out light green colour, almost grey. Brocoli takes around 4 minutes to cook, so I am unsure why this wouldn't be cooked on order. Carrots and cabbage very overcooked and watery. Meats were tasty but quite dry. Yorkshire pudding nice but cooked from frozen and same with the roast potatoes, but I could be mistaken here. Gravy was nice. £10 for a medium sized carvery is a good price but not reflected in the cooking standards. TL;DR - Good service, nice decor and atmosphere. Food way below average. I'd much rather support local business than the usual Carvery chains but this place really must up their game to compete for return business.
Amazing, absolutely amazing food, I highly recommend this the meat and veg are cooked to perfection very tender and soft
Wanted to try this friendly looking pub. Turned up without a reservation ( not a good idea ) but they was very pleased to fit us in. Beautiful carvery. Definitely coming again.
Lovely food. The seating area was quiet (Friday tea time). I had the steak pie which was nice. I will be returning.
Sunday lunch was great. Other opening times for food and food offerings needs looking at. Midweek pie I had was poor. Will go again though and try other offering. Service and staff good.
Friendly pub in the heart of Abram. Good selection of beers, classic “pub grub” Fish & Chips, Etc. Sunday Roast served. Internally pub looks a little tired. But it’s clean, and the staff very polite and pleasant. Ordered Fish & Chips, plus a vegetarian curry. These took just over 45 minutes to be delivered to the table, and the veggie curry was accidentally replaced by a chicken based one. Oops! Another 20 minutes and the veggie curry landed. Half and half with chips and rice. The fish and chips was very good. The veg curry was ok. Rice was cold, and the breads totally un edible. There are only two veggie dishes on the entire menu as set meals. It’s possibly not the best place to bring a veggie. Beer was served cold and fresh. An extra star would of been earned if we hadn’t waited over an hour for food, the rice had been warm, and the naan bread not totally inedible.
