   My second visit within two weeks. Our first visit was faultless as it was on a Wednesday afternoon and the Girl behind the Bar provided excellent service. Second visit was today and we were very dissatisfied and disappointed with the quality of the food. Ordered a Sunday Lamb dinner x 2 and both had been served with either Yesterdays or well and truly overcooked roasted potatoes as they were just empty crispy shells. The meat was Tougher than leather and we were both disappointed with our selection of food. It goes to show, it’s just pot luck when you decide to eat out, some days can be better than others. We didn’t bother with dessert and a pub I had previously recommended has now become one to avoid. I had previously sent a message to Greene King about our first visit praising the standard of food and service. Unfortunately the Greene Kinge website does not list or recognise the The Oak Tree in Newton le Willows so unable to forward a complaint. I commented to the young Girl about the potatoes and meat, but didn’t want to embarrass this young lady as she was not responsible for the standard of food served. You can see from the photo that the white potato has disintegrated and had a horrible taste to it. I hope you take on board the comments I have made and I am sure that improvements will be made in the presentation and Quality of food. Graham.

   Popped in here as part of a group of six before a meal at a nearby restaurant. Considering most of us went for some kind of double spirit with a mixer, the tab was quite reasonable. The staff served us really quickly and there's a really large outdoor space. Didn't eat anything so can only comment on the drinks service. Would happily come again.

   Been in for a couple meals and food is always good. Also been in to watch the football (World Cup) and a few Six Nations Matches. Good atmosphere for sport although a bigger TV (or another one on the other side) would be an improvement.

   Almost missed this restaurant which is only 6 mins drive from home. Value for money deal: 2 lunch sets + 2 drinks = £20.79. Friendly family style service. I will definitely visit again.

   Always a very tasty and enjoyable pub meal. Reasonable prices and a big selection of things to choose from. I always enjoy the macaroni cheese and the loaded hunters fries. The chocolate cake sundae for dessert was also very good. My only complaint is they stop food service around 7ish so you have to get in there a bit earlier. Desserts are still served a little later on.
