Iv been going to this restaurant now for last 4 years.. I always have a takeaway about 2 or 3 a month and every single one as been absolutely amazing. Really gorgeous traditional full of spice and flavour.. I would recommend this place to everyone. In my opinion the best Indian around. Staff are all really friendly. Just a fantastic place for a really great meal.

Onion Bahji was rock hard and un-edible. I had to hit it to break it open. Korma was too sweet. Naan was ok. Won't be back

An overall good restaurant Very nice ambiance Friendly staff Takes a long time to serve food but when the food was served it was fresh and piping hot. Bbq was a bit dry for my liking the rest was upto the mark Naan were fresh and flavour full. Very delicious sauce. Overall a good experience

Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The naans were burnt and way too thick, making them tough to enjoy. As for the mixed grill, some pieces were dry, which left me questioning the quality of the cooking that day, perhaps they were having an off day. I thought I’d share some feedback, but when I called to do so, the staff seemed uninterested, which didn’t leave a good impression. It's such a shame, heard some excellent things about this place from friends.

Ignore the parking comments there are plenty of signs around the restaurant to remind you to pay for your parking. The food on the other hand is perfection. The spice was just right, friendly staff, lovely setting, proper atmosphere. We will be back!

Food was amazing and the staff are really friendly and welcoming though a little overly attentive, lurking over your shoulder and topping up your glasses frequently

Having used the Gate of India for years I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal, so you may wonder why I am leaving a one-star review, simple. Parking! I have just received a £60.00 fine (on the 21 October) for a 1 hour 40 minute stay back on the 01 April 2022 when I went for a meal, the carpark was dark on arrival, no one mentioned parking restrictions and having been a regular customer for years I'd have thought someone would have taken the time to tell me about the new restrictions, when asked about the fine it was a blunt "what do you want us to do about it" - so now, I have paid the fine but you can say goodbye to my £60+ per week take away order and any hope of visits by me, any of my family. Surely you can think of better ways to make money that penalise your customers for eating in or collecting food; absolute disgrace and for that reason, I would say avoid !!!
