Waited a few minutes to be seated which was no problem. First waitress was lovely, took our order, and asked for payment before food was served which I found slightly odd. After taking my coat off and chatting for a few minutes, my friend said my cream shirt had marks on it- upon further inspection it was apparent when I leant onto our table there was what I can only describe as chocolate sauce, maybe from a dessert. When the waitress brought our food, I asked if she could clean the table, stating that my shirt had stains on it from the remnants of the previous diners, which she did , just wiped it down with no apology whatsoever, and walked off. Quite disappointing for my first time dining here

What a lovely place! Sat outside in the covered area back in autumn (only just got round to reviewing). Friendly staff. Good menu. Bought a gift from the nice little shop too. Large parking area. Recommend.

Once again I cannot give enough praise for the staff , food, atmosphere the total experience. Bag and Bean never fails to impress. My friends and I sat inside ( it wasn't too busy at 11.30 on a Wednesday) They have had a re-jig from the last time and it feels more spacious especially with the lovely outdoor area. We never once felt pressured to hurry and order....or to leave to be fair. The staff are so polite, proffessional and contribute to the comfortable atmosphere. The menu was fairly priced and good selection of snacks, light meals drinks and desserts. When we had eaten ( leisurely with extra drinks I must add) we had a look around the shop. There is a mixed price range but wow what quality. The glass art is unbelievably beautiful. I urge you to visit and take in the whole experience its our catch up corner and never disappoints.

Had to wait for a table then ended up near the automatic door. We were very cold as this was opened every few minutes. Food good. Nothing out of the norm

Met my friend for afternoon tea. The cafe was v busy but we were served quickly. Food was nice but felt one small pot of tea was a little restricted for afternoon tea so an extra cup/bigger pot or unlimited tea would be good. We need feel a little rushed to finish our tea as a waitress kept checking in on us so wasnt as relaxing as it could have been

Love this place not least because of their vegan options (including cake!). Serving staff and surroundings lovely, and dog friendly covered outside area. What's not to like!

We had a very pleasant experience . Waited to be seated and given menus although we only wanted a cup of tea. Happy with the choice of teas and delighted that it was loose leaf . I had lemon and ginger my friend had earl grey We might have had a cake but I wasn't tempted by the cakes on offer. Three years ago I had afternoon tea here and was disappointed by the rather hard scones that didn't taste very fresh so I was rather wary!

The Bag and Bean is hidden away behind the "Love It" gallery. With an option to sit inside or outside, but still under cover, makes for a pleasant dining experience regardless of the weather. Staff are attentive and pleasant without being overly familiar and service is quick and efficient. The menu is small but ample, with the usuals (sandwiches, Baked potato, salads, soup) but be sure to check out the specials. If you're an early bird, breakfast is available until 11am and as well as the standard of Bacon etc, you can also go American, with pancakes or waffles. For those of you who like a no nonsense breakfast, they also do porridge. There's a smaller menu for the little people. Tea is served by the pot and is loose leaf. A range of coffees are available too. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Wheelchair accessible, accept cash or card. Afternoon tea is available, but needs to be booked in advance.
