Lovely food, beautiful atmosphere. We really enjoyed the pork knuckle and bratwurst. The desserts were the star of the show - the black forest gateau was delish and came in a big portion. Will return for another occasion!

I came here for some food one Saturday evening, and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. We didn't have to wait much more than 5 mins for a table, which was good. I had an Apfelschorle (natural apple juice and fuzzy water) for £4 to go with my main course. I chose the Bayerische Currywurst mit Bratkartoffeln, which is basically a large red smoked currywurst pork sausage with homemade curry sauce, served with sautéed potatoes for £18.90. I found the dish to be well presented, but I wasn't a big fan of the homemade curry sauce, as it had nothing curry about it. I have been to Germany loads and have Germans in my family and I think they'd agree that this isn't the one you get from the street vendors or the classic one in a bottle from the supermarkets out there. This sauce was very red, quite sharp, more tomatoey and a bit spicy...and there was a lot of it which was all over the lovely sautéed potatoes that I wanted to enjoy, which was a shame. The sausage itself was very good though, and exactly what I'd expect...it's just a shame about the sauce. For dessert we shared a Käsekuchen for £8, which is a traditional German baked cheesecake with a light, creamy quark filling. This was a nice ending to the meal, and went down rather well. But only 3 stars, I'm afraid as the prices of the food are bit high for me, based on what you get. The food is of decent quality and has that home cooked feel about it, but all that money for a sausage and some potatoes is a bit excessive. The German lady serving us was very friendly, so the service was good. Worth a visit if you fancy some German food, but be prepared to pay more if you go for dinner and miss out on the lunchtime deals.

Wonderful experience, the atmosphere felt so sweet and homely, the staff were helpful, considerate and inviting. I was introduced to the soup of the day which at the time was potato and leek served wirh a fresh bread roll. I then had Bratwurst afterwards which unfortunately did not survive long enough for a photo. All in all, wonderful experience and fantastic staff. Will definitely come again!

Great German food and beer (Paulaner and Erdinger). We came to see the River Culture Festival, not easy to get a table on terrace (also cannot book a table in terrace - first some first serve), so we sit inside at the beginning but then we eventually got a table. We had currywurst, black forest and apple strudel, Oh my God all are delicious! We definitely will come back one day for beautiful river view on the terrace and the food.

The food was really tasty, and you get to sit in a great riverside location. Beautiful views and you can watch the sunset. Everything was a little overpriced for the portion size and type of food. You can't enter the restaurant from the river, which was slightly confusing. It's still worth a visit if you like this kind of food and want a lovely location.

This place was great! Authentic German restaurant with nice outlook over the river. Wait staff dressed accordingly and everyone was very welcoming. It’s very meat based (as would be expected) but they have some veggie/vegan options which my friends enjoyed. I had sausages, mash and sauerkraut which was yum! And of course all the beer and wine is German too. Recommend booking ahead as it gets busy - but we were luckily able to get a walk-in on a Saturday night. We were in the smoking area outside but no one was actually smoking. Tables are big and good for groups. Will be back!

Staff are super friendly. We booked ahead for my birthday and were seated at our requested area out back so we could enjoy the sunlight and view of the Thames. The restaurant even decorated our tables with birthday bunting, which was a very nice touch. The German beers were amazing, and even more so served in their signature boots. Food was great too, well cooked and great portions, of typical Bavarian style.

Hands down my favourite restaurant in Kingston! So great to see a German restaurant who does proper authentic food! Been coming here for years and had many many lovely meals out here… The restaurant itself is located by the river a little south of the main part of Kingston. The restaurant is also located right by the Rose Car Park so it’s easy to park close to the restaurant. The design of the restaurant is really homely and cozy, wooden panels and classic images from Germany, Austria and even Switzerland. Staff is very friendly and most even speak German, service is usually very good, though it can take longer when very busy, but this is understandable. The prices are fair as the portions are massive and German food anyway is filling, so you will leave the restaurant stuffed :) The food itself is truly delicious, authentic and a true taste of home. Nice big portions and quality ingredients. Proper German sausages and amazing beer, as to be expected. The desserts are also out of this world! Most people will go for a strudel but I would absolutely suggest the Kaiserschmarren… truly heaven on a plate, and once you try it you’ll want it again and again! All in all I will keep coming back here as much as I can, hands down one of my favourite restaurants!

Visited here a few times now. Great for lunch overlooking the river and also went for evening meal with friends. Friendly staff and restaurant felt cozy and relaxed. Heaters outside above tables for those colder evenings.
