Ordered from The Hotspot last night for the first time. Wow! Real authentic home cooked style food, nice and spicy with lots of flavour. I will 100% be trying some of the other food on offer here. Kofta kebabs - 10/10 Curry lamb - 10/10 Curry chicken - 8/10 Beef patty - 10/10 Rice and peas - 9/10
Home made Patties, Home made Sorrel drinks, and set Dinners. I paid £30 to have them delivered to me my side of London. That's how much I like their Food. A+ Service as well
macaroni cheese - 7/10 saltfish fritters - 3/10 jerk chicken rice and peas -2/10 Escovitch Red Bream Fish and rice - 5/10 Hotpot gravy - 1/10 Beef patty - 8/10 unfortunately i wouldn't order from here again. The portion sizes are way too small for the amount you pay. Saltfish fritters too dry and not enough saltfish or anything else in there bland. i don't understand why make jerk chicken and serve it covered in sauce?? it tasted like plain bbq chicken with some reggae reggae sauce on top of it! it didn't taste marinated, or in the slightest bit spicy and all that i could taste was the sauce. At give the option of having the sauce on the side at least. so we have the option to dip the chicken in it if you like the sauce, very disappointing. The hotpot gravy was way to sweet for me, not sure why the gravy was sweet but couldn't i eat it i couldnt taste any distinctive flavours. Escovitch Red Bream Fish - 2 small bits of fish and a small potion of rice?? although the fish tasted good, for the amount you pay i either expect a whole fish including the head, not just the tail and middle piece (which was quite small) im not a massive eater but i wanted to try everything, so for me to say that the portion sizes were small considering the price is saying something. unfortunately wouldn't order from here again next time staying in the area, too much money for too little.
Delicious, authentic Caribbean food and outstanding customer service. The dishes were all so flavoursome and fresh that we didn’t stop to take pictures and dug straight in! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for traditional Caribbean food to enjoy with your family. We will be ordering again :)
I am so impressed by the Hot spot by Carantons! The food was fresh, amazing authentic Caribbean flavours and the customer service was absolutely 5 star. We ordered the jerk chicken, curried mutton, plantain, mac n cheese, dumplings and festivals. Not one bad thing to say about any of the dishes! The dumplings were perfect and the plantain perfectly cooked and not swimming in grease! We can't wait to try more of the menu!
I have enjoyed several dishes from Caratons and will continue to order the mouthwatering flavours of the dishes that are available on the menu. My favourite is the coconut rice with either the roasted chicken in generous portions and also the marinated fish. Caraton has also managed to please my sweet tooth with the cup cakes of assorted flavours and designs and the rum cake is something that cannot be missed.
