Rare to find real local restaurants with pleasant service and excellent menu and specials. Good atmosphere - keep your head down to avoid the beams! Impromtu booking to visit Wisley Glow but will be back.

An absolutely lovely and delightful dinner. The food was excellent with well sourced ingredients, very good wine list. The highlight was definitely the service; Mark does his job like no other, great cocktails & best espresso martini of my life. Absolutely recommend.

You might drive passed the unassuming traditional looking Toby Cottage in Ripley, but that would be a mistake! For a touch of nostalgic 'old fashioned' vibes, service and cuisine, look no further! In a time of 'slap dash chuck your plate on the table without so much as a smile let alone eye contact', this place is a breath of fresh air! Service with a smile, conversation, jovial flair and a genuine want to make your experience one worth paying for is what greets you at Toby Cottage. The food was delicious with an excellent wine selection..... And as for that beautiful dessert trolley..... A touch of class! A refreshingly lovely way to spend a Saturday lunchtime! Thank you!

We went for dinner and were very impressed with the experience. The restaurant itself is somewhat dated, but that’s not a criticism, it’s like walking back in time and the level of service reflects that. The waiters and all staff we dealt with were very kind and entertaining. The food, well, the food was sublime! I would recommend to anyone and we will be returning in a few weeks to try some other items on the menu! Fresh bread and butter on arrival was a nice touch, especially because the bread rolls were shaped like tiny loafs which was a nice touch!

Lovely place serving excellent food from their well thought out menu. The service was excellent and very accomodating. Would highly recommend this restaurant as a great place to go for a great meal.

Great location but restaurant decor looked tired and the environment was like a trip back to the 1980's. Extensive menu which suggested to us that the food was cooked from frozen and not freshly prepared. Meat was tough and vegetables were overcooked. Dessert trolley tray was disappointing, old and really needs a refresh. Not particularly atmospheric. We have had better home cooked food. We definitely would not go back. Far better restaurants in Surrey for quality of food etc, and given this, the prices here were cheeky.

Very traditional Italian restaurant and all the better for it. Food is exceptional prices reasonable. Beware if you are over 6ft. You'll bang your head on the low ceiling if your not careful! Highly recommended and not just for dwarves!

An excellent, typical English cuisine with a rich wine list including marvels from Spain such as rare Ribeira del Duero. Ripley is one this charming treasures of the Surrey country side and the Tobby cottage seems to be part of a novel by William Thackeray.
