We dined near Christmas and it was pretty full with some long tables laid out for large parties. Asta, our server, despite being very busy was very attentive. She remembered all our orders and intermittent requests without writing anything down. She was always polite and had time to answer or questions. The food was excellent from the super light, crusty bread through our mains: prawn curry and fish pie to the cheesecake at the end. Great beer too. Highly recommended!

We were accommodated without a booking this afternoon for a lunch at the Black Swan. Having never been there before, I was pleasantly surprised. The outside is decorated and laid out really nicely. Four of us shared the sourdough which was good but wasn't actually sourdough more like a big crusty white roll situation... Each couple shared the hoisin mushroom spring roll. I was disappointed that it was just one spring roll for the price Β£10.50. Seemed a bit steep. The beef roast was about 7/10 - It's hard to get a 10/10 so I'd consider that good! The vegan roast was apparently disappointing with a weird tomato soupy gravy and didn't quite work. The desserts were also good although there were date pits in the sticky toffee pudding - these aren't edible when they're rock hard. The drinks took a long time to arrive - about 20 minutes for each round. I appreciate there may have been patrons ordering directly at the bar but our food arrived before the drinks did.... The service was perfectly fine with a really nice waitress (Evie, I think!) and rest of the team who we engaged with were all really nice. The atmosphere really was good, especially with the music and I would be interested to try out other bits from their menu and sit outside again! :)

Flew in for lunch in my friendβs helicopter for lunch with my daughters. Beautiful pub inside and out, but we sat outside in a lovely shady table. Great menu with a wide and original variety of tempting dishes, I started with lobster Thermidor crumpet which was delicious with a very generous amount of lobster. Had chicken Kiev for main, which was also very tasty, although perhaps a bit lacking in oozing garlic butter. Service was perfect from the lovely Holly! Overall, a sublime pub to visit, whether by land or air.

I'm inspired to write this review thanks to the superb quality food and service at this place. After a day touring Polesden Lacey, we were looking for a nice relaxing dinner out on the way home. This place had good reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. When you first arrive, you walk through a beautiful garden archway that leads you through an impressive looking outdoor seating area. It was a Saturday night and a party was going on outdoors. We were happy for the festive party goers, but were glad we were seated inside, away from the loud music! We were seated in a large, quiet room with lofty ceilings and skylight windows, which had a grand feel. The deferential, attentive service, by a very friendly French person, added to the grand atmosphere! And then the food went on to impress even further. For starters, I had the soup of the day - parsnip (I think) served with warm sour dough bread. It was presented with a drizzle of olive oil and was piping hot and delicious. My husband had the Lobster Thermidor Crumpet, served with pink grapefruit salad, which lived up to the online reviews, and was absolutely yummy. For my main course, I had the pie of the day - Fish pie. It was packed with different fish, including smoked haddock, salmon and other tender, flaky white fish, all cooked to perfection. The cheese/potato crust was seared nicely and so flavourful. The wedge of seared cabbage on the side was surprisingly tasty too, with a lightly smoky flavour to it. My husband had the King prawn and monkfish Malabar curry, served with toasted coconut rice, coriander, crispy samphire. I had a taste of it and it was every bit as delicious as the reviews had promised. My dessert was a summer special of the day - It was like a cross between Eton Mess and a cheesecake, with fresh strawberries and raspberries, fresh cream and meringue - so glad I chose it! Absolutely refreshing and delectable. My husband's dessert was a decadent Sticky Toffee pudding with rich butterscotch & maple pecans, served with deliciously creamy clotted cream icecream! One of the best "STP"s I've tasted in a while! A delightful place altogether.

My second visit and it was just as good as the first. A lovely long boozy lunch with friends. Food exquisite. Ate from the Xmas menu and the turkey was delicious (not dry at all). An amazing espresso martini too. A firm favourite.

Front of house service was amazing. Welcoming lady greeted us, we were early so she suggested we get a drink and we sat in the garden which was lovely. We had a booth seat for four people. Service while at the table was good but a bit slow and some items missed of such as water for the table and cauliflower side. We noted this on the bill and they were happy to take it of so all good. I had the vegan Wellington which was very pleasant. My partner had a meat roast which he was underwhelmed by. The potatoes where not fluffy and dry I left most of mine. The vegetables sides were fine but very bland, needed some extra seasoning. Overall good parking + yummy drinks plus good non alcoholic options. Sadly won't be going back for a roast in a hurry.

Great pub with a varied and tasty menu. Fab service. The best vegan roast I've ever had. Been 3 times now the vegan roast is always perfect and there is a decent selection of vegan wines and an amazing dessert.

I did mean to leave a written review.. My husband granddaughter and I visited this lovely establishment on a trip from Canada I used to visit as a child some 60 years ago. The charm has not diminished over time, but the food has substantially improved - a delicious lunch. Staff were amazing and friendly and the first stop on our trip could not have started at a better location and venue. My granddaughter's first taste of british chips!! which she loved

Went here for a classic car breakfast meet and was not disappointed. What a great place to go to look round. I was here in June this year for a show during the day, which was amazing also. But very friendly and a great place to meet up. I will be making the trip again to see more. Breakfast and coffee laid on also of course... Brilliant!!!
